Bogor Botanical Garden

A giant and old garden dwells in the middle of Bogor City. The distance is approximately 60 km from the south of Jakarta or only an hour's drive from the concrete jungle of the capital city. The exact location is on Jalan Ir. H. Juanda No. 13 Bogor, West Java. Bogor Botanical Gardens are indeed special for Bogor, which used to be known as “Buitenzorg” or “Maintenance Free”. This botanical garden was initiated by Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles in 1811-1816. Raffles while serving as Governor General of the Dutch East Indies brought plants from the Gardens Kew Botanical Gardens in England and then planted them in this garden.
