A Springtime Stroll Through Cambridge City

Starting at the Train Station, I walked up Station Road, with cherry blossoms gently falling like pink snow. Turning onto Trumpington Street, the historic architecture began to reveal itself—quaint stone façades, old colleges, and bicycles everywhere. First stop: Fitzwilliam Museum. Even without going in, the grand columns and blooming flower beds made it worth a pause. A few minutes on, I reached Corpus Christi College and the Corpus Clock, its eerie golden insect ticking away time—a reminder to savour the moment. Wandering into King’s Parade, spring truly came alive. King’s College Chapel stood regal against the blue sky, while tourists and students basked on the green. I grabbed a coffee from a nearby café and sat by Senate House, soaking in the atmosphere. Crossing the River Cam, I watched punts glide past, laughter echoing across the water. The Backs were in full bloom—daffodils, tulips, and weeping willows reflected in the river’s glassy surface. Looping back through Trinity Street and St John’s, the late afternoon light cast golden hues over the cobbled paths. Street musicians played near Market Square, adding a gentle soundtrack to the end of the walk. Cambridge in spring is peaceful yet vibrant, with every turn offering a piece of history wrapped in seasonal beauty.
