Rongbaozhai

Rongbaozhai is located on Liulichang West Street outside Hepingmen, Xicheng District, Beijing, with a construction area of ​​more than 9,000 square meters. Rongbaozhai has a long history. It was founded as Songzhuzhai in the 11th year of Emperor Kangxi's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1672) and was renamed Rongbaozhai in 1894. It has a history of more than 300 years and is a century-old stationery, calligraphy and painting shop. In 2006, Rongbaozhai's woodblock watermarks became part of the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage protection units. Rongbaozhai is commonly known as the "Folk Forbidden City" because it houses many famous paintings and calligraphy.
