🛕 Wat Pho, Tha Tien - a major landmark in the heart of the city

#Bangkok attractions Start the morning by visiting Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimon Mangklararm Ratchaworamahawihan (Wat Pho), the first-class royal temple of the Rattanakosin period. Upon entering, you will be struck by the enormous Reclining Buddha, over 46 meters long, decorated with 108 auspicious pearl soles. Thais believe that paying respect to the soles of the Buddha's feet will bring peace and happiness. Inside the temple, there are also 99 chedis and inscriptions of ancient medical texts on stone slabs—Wat Pho is thus known as the "first university in Thailand" and has been registered as a valuable world heritage site by UNESCO. Open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. (International tourists 100 baht/person)  The temple is located on the Tha Tien side of Sanam Chai Road, along the Chao Phraya River.
