The Temple of Unity between Chinese and Vietnamese in Sampheng

🏯Wat Lokanukroh, a Mahayana Buddhist temple, is not very large. It was built around 1851 during the late reign of King Rama III by Chinese and Vietnamese merchants as a monastery for Mahayana Buddhist activities. It was named by King Rama V. 🙏During important festivals, the temple brings out various deities for worship outside the temple due to the large number of visitors. After the festivals, the deities are returned to the main hall. 🏠Inside the main hall, there are Thai-style Buddha statues in sitting and standing postures, as well as Chinese-style Buddha statues. The wall behind the main Buddha statue is decorated with paintings of three Chinese-style Buddhas, which look sacred and beautiful.
