Phra Sumen Fortress, a fortress on the banks of the Chao Phraya River

However, as time passed, the forts were no longer necessary and were demolished. Phra Sumen Fort is one of only two remaining forts, the other being Mahakan Fort. - An octagonal fortress surrounded by a double-layered wall, the fort is 31.5 meters high and 45 meters long, with cannons installed all around. It is currently located in Santi Chai Prakan Park, Phra Athit Road, Phra Nakhon District.
