#Bangkok Attractions Today we came to the "Wat Arun" in Bangkok. This temple is known as the "Eiffel Tower of Thailand". It is located on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River and is one of Bangkok's famous landmarks. When we arrived at Wat Arun by boat, the sky had just turned to dusk, the weather was pleasant, and there were not many tourists, which made us feel very comfortable 😌. The admission fee is 200 baht per person, and they also give a free bottle of distilled water, which is really thoughtful. The "Temple of Arun" was built during the Ayutthaya Dynasty and was originally named Wat Makok, which means "Temple of the Olive Tree". During the reign of King Rama IV, it was expanded and renamed "Wat Arun". The most impressive thing in the temple is the 82-meter-high main tower with a circumference of 234 meters, symbolizing the sacred mountain "Sumeru" in the Buddhist kingdom⛰️. The main tower not only has a unique shape, but also has four small accompanying towers dedicated to the God of Wind, representing the "Four Continents". Each step is filled with exquisite paintings and carvings of Hindu and Buddhist gods, mythical beasts, and sacred objects, which are a feast for the eyes!
