Wat Arun Ratchawararam, popularly known as Wat Chaeng or Wat Arun, is an ancient temple built in the Ayutthaya period. The name Wat Chaeng came from King Taksin the Great who established the capital in Thonburi in 2310. He arrived at the temple at dawn and gave it a new name, Wat Chaeng. However, this belief is incorrect because the long poem by Mom Phimsen, an Ayutthaya period literary work that describes the journey from Ayutthaya to Phetchaburi, has already named this temple Wat Chaeng since that time. 😂 🚘 There are several ways to get there. I took a bus from my house and got off at Sanam Luang at the Thammasat University stop. Then took bus no. 53 and got off at Tha Tien.
