The Nth time visiting Changbai Mountain, I reserved my time for this fairy tale town

In the past, when I came to Changbai Mountain, I always headed straight for the summit's Tianchi Lake. This time, I spent all my time at Erdaobaihe at the foot of the mountain, only to realize that the most vivid romance of Changbai Mountain is not sealed in the sacred ice and snow, but flows through the warm winter life of this small town. D1️⃣: Appointment at Changbai Mountain North Slope On the first day, I still went to the North Slope. But my mindset was no longer "conquering," but "meeting up." Seeing the frozen Tianchi Lake again felt like a tacit understanding between old friends. D2️⃣: Strolling through the town's moments Enduli ➡️ Mandarin Duck Park ➡️ Yunding Market On the second day, I completely slowed down. Wandering casually in Enduli, watching ducks swim and part the water at Mandarin Duck Park, and making a rice appointment at Yunding Market. D3️⃣: Entering the village, going to the source of life On the third day, I followed the locals into the village to catch big geese. Watching the traditional roofs covered in white snow, experiencing the most authentic everyday life. Chasing, capturing, then waiting in a warm house for the ingredients to become dinner. At that moment, I transformed from a bystander into a part of their winter life. 🏡 About accommodation This time I didn’t stay in a hotel; I stayed two nights at Huansen·Guanzhi Homestay in Enduli town. Soaking in the hot spring in the courtyard at night, looking up at the clear starry sky. The homestay’s butler-style service was very thoughtful, with high-speed rail pick-up and drop-off, and the breakfast was delicious. The most special was the homestay’s focus on five-sense therapy: art paintings, fragrance, music, food, and hot springs together created a space that made people completely relaxed and deeply healed. 🍱 About food Eating was casual, finding small local restaurants with many locals. Having a meal with geese caught from the village. Having a meal of self-made barbecue. The flavors were simple and solid—this is what winter should be like.
