Anqing Museum

Anqing Museum is located at No. 8 Qianjiang Road, Yingjiang District, Anqing City, Anhui Province, and it shares the same institution with Anhui Chinese Huangmei Opera Museum and Anqing Revolutionary Relics Exhibition Hall cum Huang Zhen's Life Deeds Exhibition Hall, with a total construction area of 40,034 square meters and an exhibition area of 11,680 square meters. The museum is a national key museum and a comprehensive national second-level museum, mainly featuring historical relics, revolutionary relics, and drama relics. During the Eastern Zhou period, Anqing was the site of the ancient Wan state, and the abbreviation 'Wan' for Anhui Province originates from this. In the seventeenth year of the Shaoxing period of the Southern Song Dynasty (1147), Shuzhou Deqing Army was renamed Shuzhou Anqing Army, and the name 'Anqing' has been used ever since. Anqing City is a national historical and cultural city, the cradle of the Peking Opera progenitor Hui Troupe, and the hometown of famous personalities such as Chen Duxiu, Deng Jiaxian, and Zhang Henshui. From the twenty-fifth year of the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty (1760) to the twenty-seventh year of the Republic of China (1938), Anqing was the capital of Anhui Province, serving as the political, economic, and cultural center of the province, and one of the early Chinese cities to embrace modern civilization.
