Seaside Serenity in Northumberland 😌

📍 Alnmouth, Northumberland 🌊 Tucked along the Northumberland coast, Alnmouth is one of those places that quietly steals your heart. I spent an afternoon on its wide golden beach. The area offers peace and tranquility. 🌴 The beach forms around the small village with eye-catching houses with bay windows that look out onto the sea as it swoops around the bay (Picture 1). The beach stretches out beautifully, framed by grassy dunes (Picture 2) and the occasional dog racing happily across the sand. It’s peaceful, unspoilt, and never crowded — even in summer, whether you're walking barefoot along the shoreline (Picture 3), sitting with a flask of tea, or just watching the waves roll in. The only noise you'll get is from the crashing waves or the occasional train passing by in the distance. 🌄 It's even an ideal location to watch the sun setting in and the scenery turning to dusk (Picture 4). 🏠 The village of Alnmouth itself is small and charming, with pastel cottages, a couple of cosy cafés, and a welcoming, laid-back feel. It’s the perfect base if you’re exploring the Northumberland Coast Path or just looking for a break from the everyday. No noisy arcades, no crowded promenades — just fresh sea air, wide open skies, and that calm, comforting hush you only get from the sea. 🍽️ Have dinner in local village pubs on the High Street for excellent seafood. 🛌🏼 Stay in a guest house or B&B in the nearby market town of Alnwick with a huge array of shops (Picture 5). 💡 The village offers ample parking and buses.
