One month free travel in Italy - Day 12: The first stop in Sicily - Agrigento

We took the ferry from Naples to Sicily, a journey that took eight hours. We chose a quadruple room this time. The room was relatively narrow, but overall it was quite clean. We visited everywhere in the ferry and found many facilities. It was a pity that many facilities were not open at that time. Today's sunset was very beautiful. We stayed on the deck for a full hour, admiring the beautiful sunset and watching Naples getting farther and farther away from us. As the sun disappeared, we returned to our room to rest. The next morning we arrived in Palermo, a port city in Sicily. After spending four hours here, we took a train to Agrigento. The town of Agrigento is completely different from Naples. This town is full of rural atmosphere, with trees planted on the roadside, fewer cars, and the air is particularly fresh. Our itinerary today in Agrigento is to visit one of the two main attractions of this town - the Valley of the Temples (Valle dei Templi). Although there is a public bus directly to the Valley of the Temples, we still chose to walk for half an hour, so that we can enjoy the scenery along the way and breathe fresh air. The Valley of the Temples contains a group of ancient Greek temples, some intact and some destroyed. We passed four main temples along the way: Tempio di Giunone, Tempio della Concordia, Tempio di Ercole and Tempio di Castroe e Polluce. 👧🏻 was not very interested in the temples, but under the setting sun, the temples looked particularly spectacular and attracted 👧🏻's attention. I didn’t expect the temples to be so beautiful at dusk! On the way back, we had our first taste of Sicily’s specialty – fried rice balls (arancini), which became 👧🏻’s favorite authentic Italian snack. The classic version is cheese meat sauce with risotto, which is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside~😋 -To be continued- 🍨Gelateria recommendation - Le Cuspidi 🗣️This is our favorite gelateria on this trip. There are many flavors to choose from. We tasted Brioche (one of the special Sicilian desserts, gelato sandwiched in bread).
