Hotel is conveniently located on top of the train station and is connected to a mall. Love that they have free curry rice as well as a drink for those who stay with them. If you are parking, park at the rooftop and then walk over thru a connector which leads you to the conference/event halls. Thereafter, take the lift down to the lobby. If you don’t do this, you will have to do a bit of a walk around to reach the lobby. Parking is 1000yen per day but you have to have the ticket validated first at the lobby before you head out.

Candeo is right on Wakayama-Shi Train station, which makes it incredibly convenient. Sound-proofing ensures perfect sleep and no disturbance from trains or traffic etc. The staff accepted early check-in at 2pm and were incredibly courteous, professional, English-speaking and kind. Really excellent. Some large Japanese hotel chains are not entirely geared to the ”international market” and the attitude to non-Japanese guests can be less than ideal. NOT CANDEO. The staff are comfortable with an international clientele, cheerful and welcoming. How wonderful! The entire hotel is extremely clean and well-run. Everything says ”professional”. The flower arrangements on each floor are REAL. Flowers are extremely expensive in Japan. The view from the reception area (Floor 11) is fantastic. The spa (Floor 12) is open air, with a great view and a magical feel. I enjoyed my stay very much and I hope to return to Candeo soon.

The hotel is walking distance to Wakayama castle. The rooms are clean because it’s a renovated hotel this year. The morning breakfast buffet is amazing. A varieties of food are there. And also many kinds of drinks are there.

Very good experience, great bath, great room, the bedroom still has a lot of space to open the suitcase, recommended!!! There is also free ramen at 9:30pm, which is quite good for supper

Location is very good and near JR station. Complimentary breakfast is a plus. However, there is no Onsen or public bath. Bathroom is rather small. Overall it’s good value for the money paid :)

We are self driving from JR Wakayama to Shirahama about 2 hours, nice place and good location because can see the sunshine with nice beach view. The onsen is super nice view face to the beach/sea and peaceful. Hotel breakfast is very delicious with traditional Japan and Western style , there is alot of choice too. The staff is helpful to carry on our bag and luggage. The hotel reception have a convenient shop for us to buy the souvenir. I will be back again, thank you!

Amazing hotel with a great ocean view! Location was a little far from the station but you can easily grab a taxi at the station easily

The hotel room rates in Japan are very high on weekends, so I had to find this hotel with a relatively low price increase. It's hard to describe. The location is good, although the surroundings are desolate. It's convenient to walk a few minutes from the JR station. The building is shabby, the room facilities are shabby, and everything is terrible. The room smells heavily of smoke, but the hygiene is acceptable. The sound insulation is also very poor. I want to travel to a quiet neighborhood. I searched Trip.com while taking the train, read the reviews, booked in the evening and went right away.Compared to the cost, it is in the hotel, so the luxury of the hotel and the front desk are friendly and enjoy the hot springs. It was so good.It's amazing that there is such a place.. If you travel to Wakayama, you can hear it.

During the New Year, my family and I organized a trip to Osaka, Wakayama, and Shirahama in Japan. We really did not choose the wrong hotel in Shirahama. The room was very large and had a sea view. We arrived at the hotel at 3 pm and were just in time to check in. We booked two nights this time, both with one night and two meals. When the car was delivered to our hotel, someone came up to greet us. We first checked the names of the guests and then went to the front desk. The room numbers were prepared in advance, so it was quite fast. There are three types of services in the room (see the picture below). We chose the middle one with a refund of 1,500 yen. In fact, we should have chosen the one with a refund of 2,000 yen. Towels do not need to be replenished at all, and there are no towels in the large bath that need to be taken down. The refund can be used for consumption in the hotel for these two days. A tax fee needs to be paid when checking out. The breakfast and dinner were really good👍, very exquisite. Our family of 10 arranged a private room for us. It was very private and we had to enter barefoot. The dinners for the two days were all Kaiseki cuisine, and the elderly and children said it was very good👌. After dinner, there was a happy hour from 19:00 to 21:00 in the lobby bar on the first floor. You can go there to sit and taste plum wine🥃wine🍷, as well as various nuts and snacks🥜. There is a Chinese-speaking front desk staff in the hotel, and the rest of the front desk staff can speak English. There is a public bath on the second floor of the hotel, 3 pools, and additional spa services can be purchased. It would be worthwhile if it was a good season, but now it's off-season and the price is about 2000 per night. With the sea breeze, the whole night is filled with wind noise. In addition, there is an engine noise in the room at night, which seems to be coming from the engine room or somewhere else. It sounds for 10 seconds and stops for a few seconds, and the frequency changes. It is hard to imagine that a room at this price has such facility problems. People who are sensitive to sound will not be able to fall asleep at all. I will not stay here again. I will try the hot spring hotel by the sea next time.
