We stayed in the hotel for one week. We like the hotel a lot.
- Staff are nice and helpful, especially a passionate guy at the front desk. They helped us book restaurants and deal with toll payment.
- Breakfast is great. We haven’t felt bored after one week given many varieties. Especially they have “today’s special”, different omelette every day. We like the wasabi cheese omelette. On the other hand, dinner buffet was ordinary. Food became cold. With the same price, we had a nice 7-course French dinner in a nearby restaurant.
- Room is nice and clean, although a bit small. Bed is comfortable with different pillows. We have some difficulty to allocate our big suitcase in the room without block the way.
However, we noticed poor management for laundry room and emergency cases.
- There are only two washing machines. Some people put clothes on washing machines or nearby for queuing. We waited in-person for 15min several times, but someone claimed they came earlier, or said they need to add additional time for dry. We had to wait until midnight to do laundry.
- Nice onsen, but poor emergency handling. One day I heard voices from speaker for >15min during shower, and then realized it was from a cell phone when I was in indoor bath pool. A lady with black glasses was using the phone in the pool (not sure if taking photos or videos)! I felt very uncomfortable and went to the outdoor onsen. But she came to outdoor onsen shortly. I went back to indoor onsen, and saw the phone on a chair beside the indoor onsen. Another guest also expressed her concern to me. I called emergency phone in changing room, said three times “someone is using cell phone in bathing area, please send a female staff asap”. Unfortunately the guy who answered the call does not understand English. 5mins later he came to the door of changing room, asking who called SOS. I told him again, and he finally understood, but did nothing except asked my room number. After we checked out the next day, the guy saw me and told me in Japanese that “sorry, but we will improve in future” (showed English translation to me).
I was very disappointed. 1) Why did the hotel ask a guy who doesn’t understand English to take care of female onsen? What if someone fainted? 2) No actions were taken after I reported issue. No one came to stop the issue, no one checked whether inappropriate photos/videos were taken.
Whole staff are nice, the hotel is poorly managed in some places.
Definitely the best hotel in Karuizawa! Exceptional service and beautiful accommodations that have made our experience truly memorable! The professional and caring nature of your staff has been remarkable, ensuring that every aspect of our stay feels personalized and welcoming.
The hotel's design and upkeep are also commendable. The elegant decor and well-maintained facilities have set a perfect backdrop for our romantic getaway, enhancing our overall enjoyment and comfort.
I very recommend for this hotel best of all, free parking, wide room and the breakfast is the best of what I have before, i would forget and will come back to stay again.
A wonderful stay here. Refreshed and modern. We had the family room with two futons which was pretty spacious. The only downside was that the basin was located inside the bathroom, making it inconvenient for others to use it. The location was brilliant as it was only walking distance to Echoland with plenty of dining options. The breakfast buffet had a pretty good range though if some of the dishes could be different each day that would be even better. One thing to note that is that the car park is unsheltered. We stayed for the ski season in January and on one night there was heavy snow, so the next morning we had to spend some time shovelling the snow around our car before we could drive it out. I suspect this is pretty typical in Hakuba though. Overall we were very satisfied and would highly recommend this for a family ski trip.
Good hotel at a really decent price point, the only thing is the location there is nothing much to do in Nakano itself but it is very close to the train station, and I think a lot of people staying there had cars. They have different style rooms, the first room I stayed in had a coffee table which I couldn't use for computer work, but then moved to a different room later which had a proper work table which was much better. Also has an onsen which was also nice. Breakfast buffet quite decent, would just request that more vegan options be available.
Super convenient next to JR Nagano station. Hotel check in was fast and they managed to lend me a sewing kit and a small screw driver for me to open my toy to change batteries. Breakfast selection wasn’t that great with as it had few muslim friendly options. Room was big. Laundry service had to be booked in advance and we didn’t know so couldn’t do our laundry. The TV had a screen to show the amount of time remaining for the laundry machines. There was a free water dispenser but only at hotel lobby. For convenience to train station and easy access to snow monkey bus, it was still an awesome experience for us.
The advantage of this hotel is its location
It's only 3 minutes away from Ueda Station, right in front of the station.
Ueda is also a very nice place
Everything you need is there, and there won’t be any crowds.
And it only takes 12 minutes to get to Nagano via Shinkansen.
About 40 minutes on Shinano Railway
Of course, it’s also very fast to get to Karuizawa.
The most beautiful hotel in Hakuba! Snowstorm Villa, Conan BGM
It's very convenient to go there. You can take a bus from Shinjuku directly to Hakuba Happo Terminal, and take the free V2 bus to Cotina
You can also book a bus back to Haneda Airport and depart directly from the hotel.
A perfect ski trip, heavy snow, and a romantic hotel
Mostly Europeans, Australians, and many Japanese people
The hot springs are also good, and you can directly see the ski slopes in the open air
Beautiful
Excellent hotel in good location. Hotel warmly heated and comfortable despite very cold weather. Actually snowing during our stay. Enjoyed our stay. Multi-storey parking available off-site about 100m away for 1500yen, multiple entries/exits per day for fixed price.

AAnonymous UserA supermarket TSURUYA Nagisa is 450 meters away, and a familymart is 600 meters away. I didn't expect the hardware to be good, better than the previous one Matsumoto Hills, and much better than Sagamihara Crown Hills. But, I can say something about the breakfast, the hot milk tea in the beverage machine is so delicious
GGuest UserThis is a low-key luxury hotel, 10 minutes away from Karuizawa JR Station by hotel shuttle bus, and a taxi cost 1,300 yen, about 65 yuan. I chose it because the hotel has a history and is also the favorite holiday of the Beatles lead singer Lennon. British service is everywhere. The breakfast is very delicious, and the outdoor scene is even more first-class! I like this hotel very much, full of details, and I will choose it again in the future.
LLingziIt was very comfortable with the feeling of staying in a comfortable house.
I felt the richness of nature from the window and was quiet and relaxing.
MMeowVanWhat an awesome experience! The hotel offered exemplary service before we even arrived. Due to special travel arrangements, we arrived late and the staff quick to arrange an in-room bento dinner for us before our arrival. When we got there, we were immediately blown away by the gorgeousness of the hotel.
Despite its age, everything was very clean and polished. I can see that great care had been taken to upkeep the hotel and it’s premises, which are extraordinarily beautiful. We couldn’t resist taking pictures even after check-out, and it took us an hour to finally reluctantly leave. Words cannot actually do the place justice, you must visit there yourself.
We were very impressed with how delicious the food was, and the attention to detail, including the placement of the food, the coordination of food color. My mouth is still watering as I recall how delicious it was. I had 10 helpings of their prime rib one day. Besides, I had a dietary restriction and the staff were really careful with that, to the extent of reminding me what dishes not to eat everyday at their breakfast and dinner buffet.
In addition to excellent food and service, the hotel went out of its way to be very eco-friendly. For every day that we did not need our room to be tidied, we earned points, which can be traded in for ice cream or other goodies.
Finally, the staff spoke perfect English. This is rare indeed, and it made everything so much easier and so much more enjoyable. Thanks for the experience!
GGood Day EverStrategic location in the town area.
Walking distance near to Nagano Station.
Easy walk around to get food or even shopping
All the amenities placed at the lobby area, any time replenish when needed easily.
The space of the room not too big or small.... Good...
ZZhenmeiThe room I stayed in was clean and the bathroom was also very clean. The staff were also kind and nice.
However, the room was located at the very back of the 4th floor of an annex building with no elevator, so the stairs were difficult for my elderly mother who went with me.
Also, during the dinner buffet, I sat down at the seat I was directed to, left a mark, went to get my meal, and when I came back, someone else had sat down and started eating, so I moved seats. The staff member who guided us was nearby, so when I said, ``This is supposed to be our seat, but someone else is using it, so I'd like to move to another seat,'' and he looked at me a little suspiciously. I did.
Yyee meiThe location is 100 points, very close to the ski resort; there is a ski equipment rental shop in the hotel, with discounts and English communication
Since I stayed for 7 days, I was a little surprised that the room was not cleaned, the trash was not cleared, and the towels were not changed. Even if it was not cleaned every day, I thought it would be done at least every 3-4 days, so the hygiene was a little disappointing (maybe I didn't notice they were like that.)
The hotel staff are polite but basically only understand Japanese
If you are going on a ski trip, I would still recommend this hotel, but don't be too demanding on hygiene/service/food.
WWuyayizhiThe hotel's pick-up service at Yudanaka Station gave a very good first impression. Although the facilities are a bit old, the service is very warm, the room is very large, and there is a private hot spring. Every morning, the hotel also picks up guests to the Snow Monkey Park for free. However, there is a small flaw in the service I personally encountered. When I checked in, the hotel informed me that the return time from the Snow Monkey Park was 12 noon, just in time for the 12:30 bus back to Nagano, but in fact it became 12:30 the next day. I had to take the next bus back to Nagano. Because there were fewer buses, it was about an hour and a half late.
