My 3rd time staying… this time my room was in the courtyard… I much prefer being in the main hotel… breakfast has also been scaled back… no mushrooms as a vegetarian I love mushrooms at breakfast… no marmite sachets for my toast… no Nutella sachets for my daughter, these weee the little extra touches we have previously enjoyed at breakfast…. But otherwise what we did have as vegetarians was tasty.
When we arrived the barrier was down. We had to do that awkward thing of move the car over as far as you can and then stretch to reach the button to contact staff. Unfortunately the staff member who answered the gate intercom was a little hard to understand and she cut us off rather abruptly with the gate still remaining down. We pressed again and the gate allowed access.
We checked in and I advised that I had already paid online via paypal. The staff advised that any payment was not an actual payment rather a hold - I would still need to pay again. If you use paypal you will know it takes several days to show on your account so I could neither prove nor disprove their claims.
We got to our room and were pleased to be in an annexe as there was a wedding going on. Nice room size etc kettle, coffee machine, mugs, tea and biscuits. I checked in the bathroom for glasses and there were none available - I would assume that a hotel charging over £100 per night would at least supply plastic cups or proper glasses to drink water from. There was plenty of storage available and a decent hairdryer.
The shower was nice - however the glass door was not long enough to prevent significant amounts of water hitting the floor - the bath mat was sodden. The shower tray and grout work as well as an area near the radiator had mould/blackening to it. There was also a random hole in the ceiling - possibly an old leak?
The food was great although it took a while to arrive. I did ask for mild peppercorn sauce and no mushrooms - my food arrived with mushrooms and no peppercorn sauce. We left the restaurant believing that the meal would be added to the room - a member of staff followed us out advised that many people may have sat at the table and they needed a room number (this was given when we arrived at the restaurant) and could we pay now?!; perhaps they need a better booking/checking system in place?
We then went through to the bar there were several tables which had been left with glasses on them. They were only removed when we sat at one of these tables, the table remained unwiped.
The two staff on didn't come over to see if we wanted more drinks and didn't interact with other people who were hovering also intending to purchase drinks. I eventually took my chair and sat in front of the bar waiting for the staff to return from a patrol; neither asked if they could help so I shouted over. I believe this is indicative more of a lack of training in customer service than rudeness.
Children from the wedding were becoming a nuisance by this point and were pretty much unchallenged by staff. They were running in and out, up and down stairs taking milk from the fridges and leaving plastic rings on the floor. They made enough noise to be heard on at least the first floor as the fire doors were help open by magnets.
In our room we hoped for peace and quiet only to be left disappointed by music echoing over from the wedding - this finished just before midnight. The bed was comfortable and we slept well.
The gym was lovely and quiet at 8am although the sauna hadn't quite heated up when we headed in there around 8.40ish.
Breakfast was mostly tasty - the black pudding lacked any flavour - the scrambled eggs and hash browns were great. The tea was the wrong colour and tasted like very cheap teabags. There were bits of chips on the floor from the food service the night before.
The room is large and clean. There is also a gym and swimming pool. The service staff is very friendly. The hotel is large and suitable for business trips, meetings, leisure and entertainment. It is worth going again.
Norbreck is one of my happy places 😁 I have enjoyed every stay i have had so far ...I will continue yo have stays at Norbreck as it helps with my mental health after loosing both parents recently and me having a break down .. totally heartbroken 💔 thankyou for your services .. 10/10 overall 😁💙💯
Easy to find. Parking a short distance from entrance. If you are in anyway disabled you can drop off my main entrance but cannot park.
There is no lift in the hotel so if disabled you are going to need to ask for a ground floor room. I didn't know there was no lift so they had to quickly change my top floor room to ground floor room. They did this effortlessly despite being fully booked.
The room smelt unpleasant so I kept window open and used air freshener.
There was no remote for the TV and when they found a spare remote, the TV didn't work. They brought in a second TV and the manager was a hilarious man who made me roar with laughter as he tried to resolve the issues.
The food was good. I stayed two days. I would come back.
Friendly reception, very clean, superb breakfast, great hotel, our only criticism was the room lighting was very poor. The bulbs must have been ultra low wattage.
Nice hotel, lovely evening meal and the staff are good
The staff can't do enough for you.

GGuest UserWas a lovely hotel room was clean facilities was average for a hotel the only thing that let this place down was they put my pregnant parented and I in a room next to someone with a dog and the dog barked through the whole night keeping us awake the most part
SSharmayneEverything was fine, friendly staff, right opposite a tram stop, lovely view from the bedroom window and comfy bed. One issue I had was I booked room only and tried to pay for dinner at the hotel but for that whole week, they only catered to a certain amount of people which meant I had to go off premises to eat dinner. Other than that, no issues and would stay again.

AAnonymous UserReally pleasant stay at the Imperial hotel. Location is excellent right on the promenade about 7 minutes walk to north pier. Room was good quality for the price i paid. Comfortable bed, daily housekeeping. Tea / coffee making facilities in room.
MMichelle j PatersonRoom was very small only had 2 side drawers so very little storage for clothing.
Room was very small for a family of 4.
There was 2 sets of bunk beds one with a double on the bottom. Very wobbly and unstable. Unfortunately the top bunk was broken and had been fixed ( if you can call it that) with a blank of wool onto mettle frame. There was broken metal sticking out of the bed frame and spars were unsafe and moved when my child climbed into it. I ended up putting the mattress on the floor which ment there was no walking space between the beds.
Toilet didn't flush properly and had to muck about with it to flush. Shower leaked when the water was turned on.
No handle on the window to open or close it properly and when I was able to close it was a fight to push it open again.
Hotel advertised breakfast but once speaking to manager was told there was no breakfast available and hotel didn't do any catering.
Hotel was very rundown and in a very ruff area. Police were in the street every nite and there was a stabbing right outside the hotel.
After speaking to other guests all rooms seemed to be in the same state of disrepair.
Would not recommend this hotel at all.
GGuest UserThe hotel is grand, but dated.
It’s in a lovely position on the promenade and Gynn Square tram stop directly opposite.
There is a Premier shop just around the corner for essential items.
The room wasn’t ready, despite me being quite a bit past check in time, but the staff quickly rectified in a friendly and efficient manner.
The room was adequate and clean. Great to have an iron and ironing board. Nice touch!
I didn’t eat there, but had plenty of bits to make a drink in room.
TV in room and felt quite at home with the distant sounds of the seagulls reminding me I was at the seaside.
Happy days.
GGuest UserHotel was comfortable, we’ve stayed in this hotel in Liverpool and always liked it which is why we chose this one. Located okay ish, other end of Blackpool prom than we would have wanted but the comfort of the rooms and showers more than made up for it. Staff were friendly and helped us check in slightly early
KKassy HStayed here on a Saturday as seeing family in Morecambe, Excellent location to the town and Train Station, On arrival Reception helpful and friendly and we upgraded to the breakfast for £10 PP for the morning. We booked a family room and this was probably the biggest family room I have stayed in. There is a lift, but in keeping with the building this is a gate shut lift, so be prepared, I quite like it as it gave character to the hotel. Our room was dated and a little grubby, but they are renovation happening and our room was one to be renovated. They have a small bar and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. We had lunch in the restaurant for 4 people plus drinks and we then retired to the bar area for a couple hours and the bill was just over £30 per person, which I think was very reasonable, considering the many cocktails I had ! The meal was lovely and decent portions. We would definitely stay here a again when visiting family. 10/10
