However… as a newly opened guesthouse, the renovation smell was still very strong. Air purifiers were placed in the rooms and hallways to remove the odor, and the hallway was heavily scented. I initially thought the strong smell was normal for a new establishment, but when I went out to do laundry that evening, I discovered that the guesthouse hadn't even finished renovations before opening. The doors to several rooms further in were open, and the bedding, furniture, and other items were all in disarray and very dark.
