This was our 5th visit to this superb family run hotel. A few minutes stroll from the lake at the base of the Schmittenhohe mountain. Friendly and magnificent in its presentation with outstanding food and service. The free bus services to the cable car Bahn and to Kaprun for the wonderful 3k connection to Kitzsteinhorn, highest point in Salzburg region is a breeze. We have always driven from the UK and have had a parking space in the garage. We took the train to Salzburg for the day, at only €19 return per couple it's a really worthwhile and picturesque journey. You will not feel more comfortable anywhere else in the world than the Tirelerhof.

Delightful hotel with excellent facilities and modern rooms. We managed to get a space directly outside the hotel which meant we avoided the €15 garage charge, which was an added bonus. Even nicer was the complimentary room upgrade we were treated to - meaning we had one of the suites at the front of the hotel. The tastefully decorated room had plenty of space, was well equipped, and the bathroom had a variety of Elemis products and an excellent shower. The blackout curtains were excellent, although it was quite warm in the evening and having the windows open meant we were subject to the loud stream of water running through the front of the hotel grounds. There are a lot worse noises to have at night, but bring earplugs if it might bother you (or close the windows, they offer excellent sound proofing). Breakfast had a very impressive continental selection of breads and pastries, along with freshly made omelettes, and excellent coffee. Would happily stay here again if we were to head back to the area. The staff were friendly and polite, the hotel has excellent facilities and it’s in great location being near the centre of town and within a few minutes of the lake.

Lovely hotel, excellent food and great staff. Each morning you choose your 4 course evening meal from the menu (sometimes it doesn't quite translate so sheep turns out to be the most beautifully cooked lamb). The spa/sauna area is great too - even had the whole place to myself once. The staff are really professional, especially our waiter Emil. We had live music on a few nights too. The only negative is that the hotel doesn't have air conditioning which would have been great.

The hotel is what you would expect from a 4 star.. welcome from male receptionist when we arrived was 5 star ( didn’t get his name ..sorry - had beard!) so professional and this continued while he was there. Rooms are v nice if a little compact for a week long stay, maybe too much furniture ? Breakfast top class, spa facilities good and location in the town perfect

Over the years we have visited this lovely hotel 3 times, in 1993, 2000 and just last week. We really shouldn’t have left it so long as it is a real gem. We had a junior suite which was spacious and spotless. We didn’t ski but found plenty to do - walking in the area, spending time in pool, sauna, steam room or wondering around Zell visiting the many cafes and gift shops and walks around the lake. The 4 course evening meals were a special delight with lots of variety accompanied by some excellent Austrian wines. Special mention to Rosa who looked after us so well each day and is a credit to the hotel. Thank you to The Posch Family and Hotel Tirolerhof for a truly relaxing stay. We can’t wait to return and we definitely will not be leaving it so long next time.

The Hotel Tirolerhof is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. The Family Posch ensure that every guest is made to feel very welcome. They obviously take great pride in their hotel as it is has been constantly improved and well maintained over the years that we have been visiting. The food is excellent and our area of the restaurant was well managed by Emil. Don't miss this hotel as it is a joy to visit and well placed in Zell Am See for all the amenities.

I spent a week at this hotel and to say it was the best hotel I have ever stayed in is an understatement. The reception staff on arrival were so friendly and welcoming right from the start and produced a welcome glass of bubbly after our flight over. We had a junior suite which was so spacious clean and well appointed. The balcony looked over towards the mountains and overlooked the gardens. The cleaners kept the suite immaculate and every night turned down the beds and left us our weather forecast for the next day. The food in the restaurant from breakfast to snacks to dinner was so well presented and tasted beautiful at every meal. We were on full board. All the dinners could only be described as fine dining. Again the dining staff were so helpful and friendly. The bar area and lounge was very welcoming warm friendly and comfortable. The spa and swimming pool were very good. Sauna area and rest areas were well kept and always well stocked with fresh drinking water and nibbles No one could fault this hotel and in my opinion it was just perfect in every way. This hotel obviously carries out maintenance frequently as nothing is ever found broken or not working. One thing you have to remember is in Austria they don't have tea and coffee facilities in your room which I always find a bit strange Definitely recommend this to everyone without hesitation I will be back at some point I am quite sure. This is our second visit to this hotel which tells you it's that good

Excellent place to stay. Very central for the lake, bus station, shops and restaurants. Best breakfast I’ve ever had in an Austrian hotel although it’s quite a big hotel so it could be busy, but the dining room is well set out into smaller areas. A bonus was being able to hire bikes from the hotel. The Spa was great (although I’m not an expert on Spas) but it seemed to have everything. Plenty of equipment in the room - a desk fan (necessary as no air conditioning), bathroom scales, even an umbrella and rucksack for guest use. The Guest card gives free bus and train travel which is necessary without a car.
