Alykanas Beach Grand Hotel by Zante Plaza

We had a week at this lovely hotel. We have never done all inclusive before and I was a bit worried after seeing some of the bad reviews... however the food was amazing!. Fresh, re stocked, clean environment and not a fly in sight...a different greek buffet every day with so much fresh fruit and different salads to accompany the other dishes. Our room was spotless and cleaned every day. The only issue which was easily avoided was having a shower around 6pm when everyone else was as only cold or no water. Rest of time was great. Never to crowded in pool, could always get a sunbed although I think they could do with buying a few new sun parasols lol... The beach and sea beautiful and local town lively and friendly. Great entertainment most evenings. Easy access to boat/car hire. My 8 yr old had the best holiday ever. Thank you.

Just spent a week here with family. 12 of us and we all had a brilliant time. The location is breathtaking and would never get bored of that view from the hotel! The rooms were a good size. We was on the ground floor and had no issues with the drainage as from the reviews I can see some people have. The water is intermittent and would turn hot and cold during, but this wasn’t a big issue as it soon sorted it self out. Guessing the issue was when everyone in the hotel was showering at the same time. Rooms were cleaned to a good standard everyday and had everything we needed. We found the beds a little uncomfortable but that’s personal preference. Air con was good and the glass doors need to be closed for it to work. Cooled the room down very quickly. Food was great, was slightly crowded when the restaurant first opens but if you go a little later it is a lot quieter around the food station . Lots of choices and the desserts were always delicious! Breakfast was not the best but again that’s personal preference. Never had a bad meal and things were topped up very quickly. The kids had a great time in the pool, never over crowded which was great and the little ones loved the slides in the toddler pool. Short 5 minute walk to see the turtles which was absolutely amazing ☺️ Lots of shops and restaurants just a short walk from the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful at the hotel. All in all we had the best week here. Everything seemed to run smoothly. I got very nervous by reading some reviews but don’t judge until you have been yourself. We had the best time.

We arrived for a 10 day stay. This is the 5th time we have visited this hotel, but the first time since it has changed ownership. We had power cuts every morning and no water flowing through the taps and shower. We stayed in room 218. (Two bedroom apartment) one of the showers was completely blocked and wouldn’t drain away, this was bought to the attention of reception on our 2nd day and they said they will resolve the issue. Fast forward to our last day and asking a further 3 times in between the shower was still blocked and flooding into the bedroom. Housekeeping is below standard. Dirt and hairs in the bathroom from before we arrived to the day we left. We also had to go to reception and ask for basics such as toilet roll and towels as they hadn’t put any in. Dirty cups and glasses that had been used and left by the sink all week. I don’t mind washing my own stuff ip but there is no facilities to do this? Drinks by the bar are served in tiny plastic cups so you need to order a few at a time. The food wasn’t the best meat covered in flys and the main dishes of meat were mostly bones (very off putting) we went out for dinner most nights as the food was not very good and varied. The only thing this hotel has going for it is its location right on the beach front. Unfortunately we wont be returning.

Had the most wonderful trip in years. Such friendly people and splendid accomodation. Food was more than you could wish for with a perfect view at the sea. I will surely return here. Beach is near the swimming pool and the environment is near to perfection.

We have just spent a week at this hotel. Firstly, this is not a four star hotel. We were supposed to have a superior room but our balcony overlooked the back entrance and the owners old boat! The room was an ok size and kept very clean by the very friendly cleaning ladies. The beds were very comfortable. The dining room is very small, especially the self service area that gets very crowded. The food was mediocre and not very hot. Reasonable variety but the meat stew type dishes were mainly bones. The drinks were ok and the bar staff were very friendly. The pool was lovely and kept very clean. The hotel is right on the beach with a few tavernas etc a short walk away. During our stay we had very disruptive guests in the next room who caused all sorts of problems, including my husband being assaulted, resulting in them being removed from the hotel. This could have been avoided if the management had acted more swiftly. Would we return to the hotel… no!

This hotel is nicely situated on the beach, that is the only thing this hotel has going for it as the rooms are rubbish, the air conditioning is not very good and the furniture looks like it was built by an amateur. The staff are very rude and the bar staff are just creeps. the food in the restaurant is covered in fly's and if you zoom in on the photos you can see them on the food, you are also crammed in to get your food and the drinks are also left out in the heat. The place is geared towards the German customers and can only advise to book somewhere else

Just spent another relaxing October half term at probably one of the best located hotels in the world as a certain TV presenter would say!! No kids club,no water/splash park and yet children love it,they make friends and play on the beach between the hotel and the shallow clear sea.In the mornings adults take hordes of children turtle spotting, nearly always quarented near the harbour just a short stroll away. The hotel is run by very friendly staff most of them have been there for years and Yiannis behind the bar manages to keep everybody entertained from the youngest to the eldest. There is always plenty of food to choose from across the self service buffet.The rooms are clean but basic with comfortable beds.If you fancy anything different numerous bars and restaurants are just a few hundred metres away. A great place to have a truly relaxing peaceful holiday. We will be going again next year.

We stayed here for a week. Rooms were good size but definitely need some upgrading, especially the showers. & House keeping wasn’t the best. But the plus sides was that the food was delicious and location was great. Hotel is right on beach and shops and restaurants and bars. Staff were friendly and all spoke English which was helpful. We had a lovely time overall.

Great hotel. Incredible location, right on the beach. The beach is lovely, water extremely clear and clean. Perfect for children as shallow and calm water. Food was great, really enjoyed the fresh grill during lunch and dinner. Great seating over looking the sea. Walked 10 minutes towards the harbour along the beach to see sea turtle (visited between 9am and 10am and saw them every time). Room is good with comfy beds and large balcony, however bathroom requires updating. Stayed during uk half term, busy but always plenty of sunbeds around.
