"I stayed at Hotel Phoenix with my school and it was honestly a complete disaster. The rooms were in awful condition, peeling leather headboards, stains all over the walls. And the audacity they had to try and charge my friends for “accidental damage” when EVERY room already looked ruined was unbelievable. It felt like they were just trying to blame us and squeeze money out of us for damage we obviously didn’t do. To make everything worse, there was absolutely no staff after 10 PM, so when my key card stopped working, I got completely locked out of my room with zero help, zero support, and zero responsibility from the hotel. The food was cold, the service was terrible, and the whole place felt like it was falling apart. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone, the experience was honestly infuriating."

"Hidden away down a passageway is Swanky Mint Hostel. This was a pretty cool hostel with exceptionally friendly staff. The location of the hostel is excellent right in the centre of Zagreb. Its walking distance to a lot of sites. The dorm rooms were nice and did their job. Beds were comfortable but the curtains on the lower beds could do with some repairs as noticed they were not quite hung up correctly. There was AC in the room however noticed that it was above one particular bed so if that person closed their curtains it would be harder for the AC to cool the room. There was big lockers for each bed that requires a padlock. The shared showers and toilets were ok but they probably could have more than one toilet for the number of people staying here. There was a shared kitchen in a basement which was nice. It was the shared communal space and they also had free tea and coffee here. There is also a rooftop swimming pool on site but I didn't see anyone use this. They give you a free drink voucher when you check in which you can use for the bar upstairs. There is an Asian fusion restaurant on site and also a bar called Swanky Monkey. Both were good and worth a visit Staff were very nice here and were happy to help."

"I didn't know the PIN code to enter the hotel, but I contacted the hotel and a staff member came and I was able to enter without any problems. The hotel staff were very friendly and explained everything carefully. There was a kitchen so it seemed like I could cook, and I was told I could use the dishes freely. Coffee, tea, and sugar were also available for free. The room was cute and relaxing, and the toilet and shower were clean, which was great. I was able to stay with peace of mind!"
