Highly recommend Jackie's guesthouse. It's a really beautiful location right by the rice paddies, nestled into his village. It was a big plus for us that he is fluent in English, so we could ask him lots of questions and he helped us alot. Thank you Jackie! The area is a bit tricky to explore because they don't seem to do scooter rentals for foreigners. So you have to take these minivan taxi/bus things, which we experienced a lot of unpleasant haggling with. More of a taxi than a bus, at least for tourists. But it sure is beautiful and an interesting culture to get to know.

Perfect stay for rice terraces. Walking distance for great sunrise spot and also another great view in the town below (less than 10 min walk) clean and comfortable. May be the most comfortable bed I slept in so far in china! Great view! Picture is from bedroom window!

The room is clean and warmly decorated. You can watch the stars on the roof. The boss and the landlady are enthusiastic. You can only eat when the landlady is there. Just around 200 meters from the Jingkou Village Observation Deck, there are also triple rooms, suitable for family travel.

What a great location for being amongst the terraces! We splurged and got the terrace view room, and it was very nice with a great view, comfortable bed, warm blankets, and hot shower. The room has an unblocked view of the terraces. But if you don't get that room, the upstairs balcony has the very best view. But we enjoyed watching the sunrise from our bed with hot tea. Lucian is really great! He explained to us different hiking options for seeing other views. His English is really good too so you can ask him any questions about the area. He has a sweet old dog and a cute young cat. He's also available to pick you up if you get lost or have trouble getting back after sunset. No air conditioning. The bed was very warm (there was an electric mattress, but I didn't use it), and I stayed there until dawn. The uncle security guard is also super good. After guiding the parking, I saw the jackfruit I bought and reminded me to bring things back to the room. Other facilities are fine. The hotel is located in Xinjie and the traffic is relatively convenient. There is a car directly to Duoyishu, and there is a direct bus to Kunming at the nearby passenger station. It will pass through old-Jianshui_Yuxi and other places.
