Booked here as it looked decent for the ££ even though it was booked via business account. I was the awkward customer, I needed a late check in, Customer Service was Brilliant, clean & Comfy & the breakfast & coffee gets 5 stars. Highly recommended. It felt like a home from home, it’s not a 5 star Hotel but your Certainly made to feel you’re in one

Exceptionally clean and very comfortable stay. Paul was very friendly and helpful, even going out of his way to help when our other hotel booking fell through, without breaking the bank. The room was large and the bathroom even bigger, the beds were soft and there was plenty of storage.

Was there with my Wife for two nights very clean Hotel the Owner Paul was Brilliant the room was very nice will visit again.It was nice weather for the season and we enjoyed walking around the town. The breakfast was nice, very good car park.We recommend this hotel.

I was there for three days. when I arrived the guy who welcomed me was I bit rude. for some wired reason the Reception is not staffed 24/7, which I found very weird. Because of this reason there was a code at the door, and he then told me the code. and I said Ill just write that down on my phone, and he went everyone know that, that's a common phrase that everyone knows. I I still just went yes, I Know it is, but just in chase. and when I was checking out there was no one at the reception and which again was wired. and since I had a train to catch I just left the key on the desk and left. again it was wired and awarded service at this hotel.

Not sure where all the friendly, welcoming reviews come from. Perhaps this guy just doesn’t like cyclists but my son and I arrived here last week after a day cycling in pouring rain and the greeting we got was “name ?” When I asked how far it was to Woodbridge the reply was “ you’re in Woodbridge “. Technically maybe correct but the town centre is actually across the busy A12 and then a 20 min walk. I was only hoping for some guidance about dinner options. The next morning we were told not to leave a mess on the breakfast table after a couple of crumbs of cereal were spilt. We had booked for 2 nights but left after one night as the experience was too unpleasant. Also the room had an unpleasant smell of cleaning products. I work in the travel industry and I’ve never encountered such behaviour from a hotelier anywhere in the world. As I said initially , perhaps he simply doesn’t like cyclists. We stayed in a beautiful hotel in Bury St Edmunds which had a pool and spa and only cost £7.50 per night more than this hotel. Don’t always trust a string of 5 star reviews

Really nice place to stay; owner is great really helpful, friendly and welcoming, the rooms are presented well and the beds are comfortable, the breakfasts do the job, great link to local Woodbridge, cant ask for more. Highly recommend a stay.

Superb first class accomodation. The owners were lovely and so accommodating. Like home from home. I was a lone female and I felt so safe which is a priority when travelling alone. Room was exceptionally clean with everything you would need and comfy bed and facilities. Would love to return and recommend to anyone. 10/10. X

We can't recommend the grove house more highly. Paul was the perfect host, he was warm and welcoming despite our rather late arrival! The room was clean and comfortable with everything we needed, including plenty of space for our motorbike gear. Breakfast was a good hearty full english (i needed a nap afterwards!) with really tasty, good quality sausages. I didn't get the name of the lovely lady working with Paul at breakfast, but she too was warm and friendly. We felt more like old friends than hotel guests. We very rarely stay at the same place more than once as we like to explore new places, but we both agreed that we should make Grove House an annual weekend away! Thank you Paul, for making 2 scruffy biker oiks from essex feel so welcome

Can't quite put my finger on this place. Stayed for 3 nights but feel it's more suitable for just a one night stop over. Room 6 was ok. Classed as a de luxe room but don't think it was anything special. It was very clean and had all we needed except for perhaps a couple of chairs to sit in but there again it wasn't big enough. The leaflet said it had a lounge but we couldn't find one and there was no one to ask at the time. The room smelt musty and stuffy when shut up with no windows open but it disappeared with a bit of fresh air. Breakfast fine but would have liked a bit more choice for hot as not everyone likes a full breakfast. Found the having to tell the owners of our eating arrangements before 6 pm rather strange. Price for meals expensive too. Bread and Butter pudding!! Awful. A bit stingy on vegetables too.
