"A great atmosphere and a very pleasant stay I spent a night at Wanaka Adventure Hostel and I really enjoyed my stay. The rooms are very comfortable, the hostel is clean, welcoming, and has a great atmosphere. The staff is very friendly, always smiling and available. I also met some wonderful other travelers, which made this stop even more enjoyable. I had a great time and I recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a friendly, comfortable, and welcoming place in Wanaka. I'll gladly come back! 🙌"

"Wanaka itself isn't a big place, and Haka is considered one of the higher-quality hostels, plus it's very close to the town center. Even during holidays, the cleanliness is consistently good. Unlike the Haka in Queenstown, perhaps because there's more space here, the accommodations are individual buildings, whereas in Queenstown, the entire second floor is dorm rooms. However, there's a gravel path leading up to this Haka, which will definitely test your suitcase wheels! Overall, it's pretty good. You can walk right out to stargaze at night and then quickly hop back into bed."

"We stayed in the Minaret Room last week, and quite frankly, I wish Tripadvisor allowed zero—or better yet, negative—stars. This was by far one of the worst lodging experiences I’ve ever had. The room was a disaster: badly furnished, ice-cold, and with a non-functioning Wi-Fi connection. The space was cluttered with pointless, impractical furniture that seemed more decorative than usable—completely useless to any traveler with actual needs. It was freezing when we arrived. Nobody had bothered to turn on any heating in advance. When we finally figured out how to switch on the heater, it only made things worse: unbearably loud and utterly useless. It made noise, not heat. Sleeping there felt like camping in a badly decorated refrigerator. As for the Wi-Fi: it was advertised, but non-existent. I left a message with the lodge operator—radio silence. No callback, no follow-up, no fix. Clearly, guest comfort and basic services are not a priority here. My advice? Don’t walk—run—in the opposite direction. Stay anywhere else. This place is an overpriced embarrassment."

"The hotel's location is excellent, right next to a supermarket and very close to Lake Wanaka. The rooms have a kitchen, which is great for cooking simple meals, and there's plenty of parking. My only complaint is that they don't provide slippers or toiletries."

"This independent studio room within the RV park is quite spacious, and while the soundproofing isn't great, it offers excellent value for money! The kitchen is well-equipped with all the necessary utensils, including salt and pepper, so you can easily cook your own dinner. It has a private toilet and shower, but only soap is provided, so you'll need to bring your own toiletries. The bed is quite comfortable. We visited in mid-May, and it was very cold, but there was an electric heater and two electric blankets, although one of them wasn't working. There are very few power outlets. You can park your car right in front of the unit. There's a laundry room in another nearby area, costing 6 NZD per wash and 6 NZD for 60 minutes of drying. There's also a communal kitchen. The location is right in the city center, with many restaurants nearby. It's very close to Wanaka Tree and the lake, both within walking distance."
