Solid 4/5 on all fronts, but I can't give 5/5 in any area. Chalets are very basic. yes, it's hard to expect more luxury from desert stay, but very easy and cheap improvements can be made there. The staff is helpful, but there's so many of them and sometimes you go to your chalet and staff member just has a loud video call with his family back home in the area where guests supposed to hang out. I don't mind really, but there's must be a staff room for that (or any place - we're in a desert after all). There was a lot of families with kids, but no playground. Come on, we're in a desert, make a fun sandbox for kids! Also, after I booked, prices have dropped 50% on the same dates. Thankfully, Trip.com refunded most of the difference, but it showed what real price should look like - no more than $100/night

Very nice hotel in the desert. We did not have 4wd and they provided the transfer for a fair price, from the main road. We also did a sunset tour with them. Food was very nice.

The breakfast leaves much to be desired. Really cheap food

We were the only 4 people staying in the hotel during the off-season. All staff were there to serve us. It was really nice. Although it was hot during the day, it was very cool at night. You can take pictures of the Milky Way, but the light pollution is a bit large. We rented a 4WD car for our own driving. If you don't have one, you can pay for the hotel to pick you up. The original route feels a bit like Kenya.

If you have a four-wheel drive car, you can drive to the desert hotel by yourself. If not, you need to contact the hotel via WhatsApp and ask the hotel to arrange a pick-up. The round trip is 32 Oman dollars. There is a desert next to the hotel, so you need to climb up to see the sunrise and sunset. The hotel has open-air movies and bonfires in the evening. The dinner was very good and in line with Chinese tastes.
