If you are dreaming of a beautiful weekend, I advise you to come here , I am very happy to spend a wonderful time with my wife in this wonderful place, the view of the lake is beautiful , the whole team is beautiful and everyone smiles and provides the best service , the manager ( Raphael ) is wonderful and has a positive vibes , great food and if you are a vegan like us, you will not regret the dishes, the cleaning team is wonderful and nice, thank you very much . My husband and I, and another couple each secured a balcony room overlooking Lake Lucerne. We couldn’t tear ourselves away from the gorgeous view and sunsets. Don’t worry however if you don’t get a balcony view as all the restaurants, hotel and grounds offer spectacular views of the lake and sunsets. The landscaping is fairytale spectacular, lots of photo ops. Our rooms were exceptionally comfortable and clean. We must provide a shout out to Karen, a member of the waitstaff who is clearly intent on providing a five-star friendly experience to customers. The front desk staff are exceptionally accommodating and friendly. We were so happy the spa offered hours into the evening. The sauna and steam room were fantastic after a long day walking in downtown Lucerne and very much appreciated on a rainy afternoon. We LOVED the Gondola sauna right off the lake. After a good sweat, we took four steps right into the icy cold lake. There are so many private nooks and crannies along the water’s edge, you wouldn’t know anyone else is at the hotel. The location is about a 45-minute drive away from Lucerne and that was just fine by us, I wouldn’t want to visit Lucerne more than a day or two. Lucerne was great to visit, and definitely a good choice for dinners, as the restaurant at Hotel Vitznauhof is very pricey and well, the quality is just not worth it. Hopefully, the formal dining room and the lakefront Panorama Terrace menus will expand and offer more reasonable, quality, and diverse fare. However, the breakfast is fantastic, great selections including smoked trout and salmon, and complimentary Prosecco. Overall, we feel as if everything this hotel has to offer makes the stay reasonably priced. Thanks for the best memories, and hoping to return.

The entire stay at the hotel was outstanding. From reception, quality of accommodation, food and general service. Fantastic location and polite staff. Special thanks to Mr. Marko, who as the manager of the restaurant showed an exceptional level of hospitality

A superb hotel with an amazing location. Rooms excellent and facilities very good. The staff were wonderful and very helpful and food was very good. We attended a wedding which was magical . We can't wait to return and planning our trip very soon.

It’s as picturesque as you can imagine. Set in a beautiful spot! The hospitality was very welcoming and friendly. The room was set beautifully and clean. I enjoyed the spa too especially the hot jacuzzi outside. Can’t wait to return

Overall I can only give this hotel a 2/5. Location: Beautiful but kind of remote. You are right on the lake, so great sunsets, beautiful scenery and its very peaceful. Remote - More than an hour from Lucerne driving, ferry is also about 1hr. Interlaken is about 2.5 to 3hrs drive due to traffic and small roads. Ferry without a pass is about 60 CHF round trip to Lucerne, so quite pricey. Staff: Overall: Very helpful and friendly, no problems. Food: We ate breakfast and dinner at the hotel. Breakfast was very good, with a good selection. Dinner we felt it was overpriced for what it was, you would average around $75 - $100 pp without alcohol. There are also very limited options in the village unless you want to drive. There is a grocery store across the street that you can pick up snacks and other things which is useful. Parking: Decent parking at the hotel at 10 CHF per night. Room: This is where the main issue was. The room overall is quite small, though very clean and well appointed. We had an upgraded room with a patio overlooking the lake. The doors to the patio couldn't be opened fully as the bed was in the way. There is no A/C in the room due to the hotel being a historic building. We stayed at the hotel in early September 2023, it was around 85F / 29C in the daytime with a humidity of around 75%. The lakeview rooms get full sun from around 1pm till 7.30pm in early September, which means they are literally unbearable from about 3pm. The hotel does provide a fan, but it's not really useful when inside the room the temperature was reading 91F/ 33C. This is a big problem as the hotel isn't a low end establishment and we expected better. In addition, as the evening comes in, there was a high amount of mosquitos (due to the lake) which if you leave the doors open, you will be eaten alive, this adds to the problem with an already hot room. If there was some kind of bug screen this would have really helped as there is no other way to cool the room down. Overall, we were happy to leave, even though the views and location are spectacular and staff very accommodating. The problems with the room are too much based on this price point.

This hotel was absolutely wonderful. The lobby and outdoor areas are second to none. Breathtaking views of the lake and mountains. We used the complimentary paddle boards and outdoor pool. Could not get a reservation at the panorama restaurant which looked amazing. Rooms are small, no air conditioning is available, but I would recommend and stay again in a heartbeat. Request a balcony room!

The hotel is just gorgeous and the hotel staff were so helpful! We were traveling with our toddler and they helped arrange car transfers with car seats and babysitting for us. The breakfast is maybe the best hotel breakfast I've ever had. There's swimming on the property but also a public park 5 minutes away that has good swimming for kids and a restaurant! We went to a wedding on the property and it was gorgeous!

There is no place in all of Switzerland that provides the warm and welcoming atmosphere of Vitznauerhof. We already lost count of the times that we stayed in this place. Whenever we go back, it always feel like home and the experience just gets better. It's luxurious but not pretentious, everyone is genuine. Aside the from the beautiful location, it also houses the best fine dining restaurant in Switzerland, we ate here many times and we are always amazed! One of the main reasons why we love this place is it is very family oriented. They took very good care of our daughter since she was 2 yrs old, now 5. When we stayed there last time she played with a toy while waiting for our room to be ready, after lunch we were pleasantly suprised when we found the same toy on her bed with a nice note. These gestures of thoughtfulness make our stay beautiful. We were also upgraded to their suite on a New Year's Eve party. It was one of best celebrations! Our daughter once told us that she is Vitznauerhof-sick when we did not visit for a while. For her, Vitznauerhof is almost a second home. It also has a wonderful sauna by the lake. What more can you ask? Even a night here will leave you feeling refreshed and ready to face the busy life again. Thank you Mrs. Sanne Achtien and team for everything!
