Ulasan Hotel Palazzo Stern

We first stayed at the Palazzo in August ‘16 for 3 nights, culminating in having our wedding reception there on the terrace on our last day which was absolutely superb! It’s taken us a while to return having just stayed for 4 nights in August ‘24 which was fabulous! The staff at the Palazzo looked after us again, providing a complimentary vintage boat transfer from their sister hotel near the train station, an upgrade to a Grand Canal view room and a bottle of Prosecco with a lovely welcome card in the room! The hotel’s in a fantastic location, next to a vaporetto stop and in a great area of Venice, Dorsoduro, which has a great selection of restaurants and wine bars and far less tourists. For anyone wanting to take a trip on a Gondola, go down to the small square less than 5 minutes walk from the Palazzo and get one from there, a great experience, you even get to pop out at the side of the hotel for a short stint on the Grand Canal on route back. The Palazzo is a work of art inside, would recommend going up to the top floor and taking a look around, when there you’ll understand what I mean! Our room was decorated in keeping with the style of the hotel with everything you needed and it was a pleasure waking up, opening the windows and watching Venetian life going past on the canal, there’s also the lovely terrace and bar. All the staff we met were faultless, friendly, polite and at the same time discrete but around when you needed them. This was our second stay at the superb Palazzo Stern, it having exceeded all expectations first time. And it was just as excellent this time. It is away from the crowds of St Marco, yet close enough to the centre still to be convenient, with the Ca Rezonnico vaporetto stop right next door so super-easy to get around the entire city. We were lucky enough to have one of the rooms overlooking the Grand Canal, a view that would be hard to beat anywhere in the World. The rooms are luxuriously furnished and decorated in traditional Venetian style - as confirmed by the similarly decorated rooms in the Ca Rezonnico museum/gallery next door (well worth a visit while there). And the staff - the same as our first visit - are a delight - welcoming, friendly and efficient - we wanted for nothing while there. And the delicious breakfast, drinks, coffee or even dinner are very special and not to be missed on the quiet terrace on the grand canal - something almost unique in the whole of Venice. We hope to return to Venice next year and would not even consider staying anywhere else - Palazzo Stern now feels like our home in Venice and we would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

The hotel was magical, classical Venetian design, the staff was attentive and it was ideally located. The continental breakfast was tasty and filling. Unfortunately, our dinner did not meet our expectation - I had to send back my steak - it was fine but not as special as the ambiance. With so many fine restaurants in the area, there are better choices for dinner. In spite of that, we would return the next time we visit Venice.

This was a beautiful hotel! After checking into our not so nice Airbnb, We scrambled to find a hotel. Hotel Palazzo Stern was amazing. The staff were all wonderful. The room was cozy, clean and the bed was very comfortable Highly recommend staying here!

Take the water taxi for 70 E so worth the ride and arrival to this beautiful hotel. Love its location w view from terrace and room. Rooms are European small , but beautiful. Very modern bathroom compared to ornate room. Away from really touristy area w more authentic places to eat/drink.

Just finishing a holiday in Venice after a break in Jesolo. The hotel has so many wow factors, particularly the terrace on to the Grand Canal. Our room was ready on arrival before noon. Service has been exceptional. Highly, highly recommended.

What an amazing place, The staff from the receptionsist to the lovely lady that served us was the best we have had. The hotel is is easy to get to 50m from a ferry drop of Point, food was amazing. The decor is exquisite and classy. This is a must stay in Venice.

We couldn't be happier that we chose to stay at the Hotel Palazzo Stern! From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left, the customer service and experience was top notch. The location is perfect being on the Grand Canal and near water taxi both public and private options. The rooms were immaculate and perfect for our family. The restaurant is amazing with both great breakfast and dessert options. We didn't manage to try dinner. I can't say enough about how awesome of an experience we had here, and if/when we come back, we won't hesitate to stay here again!

The hotel room was ok. The tissue box was out, The TV remote was missing, the air condition was not working. Apprently the management controls the room AC from the main office. My son was so hot, I had to fan him with no air condition. The WIFI provided is based on giving up personal information. We received a drink coupon for 15%. If management is giving a drink coupon, it should be at least 50% or complimentary to impress a guest. This establishment is very expensive and to us, not worth the price. We have stayed in hotels in various cities across the world, and this place is at the bottom of the list. THe staff was friendly. This problem is a management problem, not a staff problem.

Glorious location with patio on the Canal, what’s not to love. Third time staying. Gordi and Jona at reception ready to answer any requests and questions. Vaporetta station mere steps away and lots of great restaurants in this quiet part of Venice. Brought our daughters to experience Venice and they were overwhelmed with the beauty of their room and the city.

Wonderful location! The views from the hotel are lovely. Located in a quiet section of canals. There is a water taxi stop conveniently located just outside the hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the rooms are well equipped and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

Our first time at this stunning hotel and it won’t be our last ! Our 29th Wedding Anniversary and we had a bottle of fizz waiting in our room and we were given the amazing room with a little balcony where you can sit and watch the gondoliers go by ! Thank you so much for that The location is perfect with a station for the Alilaguna and water boats right outside We fell in love with Venice and the Palazzo Stern We wouldn’t stay anywhere else

Stunning architecture with beautiful mosaics, dark wood and chandeliers in the room. Very comfortable, clean and very convenient to restaurants and shopping. Take Water Taxi there for seamless experience!! Breakfast was nice and front desk staff was very accommodating once I realized our family had been booked to two floors and wished to have us on one. Highly recommend!
