The location is good and the hotel is just fine. Need some renovation around the path leading to beach. Many opt for this location for ease of access to beaches, if that is not maintained it will lead to disappointment. The SPA is not per the expectation and the maintenance of the spa is very bad. Food is above average. The buffet breakfast is fine but lacks variety for those staying longer. Overall it was a good experience. The attender at the pool Mr. Babu is very good, he should be awarded for his fine service. Overall the hotel staff are polite and well mannered and hear to our concerns.

Excellent Hotel with excellent services. The managers and staffs kept us very comfortable and most importantly accommodated to our toddlers meals during the stay. Very beautiful view as very peaceful hotel!

My wife and I recently stayed at the Gateway Taj in Varkala to celebrate her retirement, and it was an exceptional experience. Our room offered a stunning view of the sea, which we thoroughly enjoyed from the comfortable sit-out area. The peaceful ambiance of the room, combined with the mesmerizing sea view, made for a perfect setting to relax and unwind. The housekeeping staff was outstanding—courteous, attentive, and efficient. They went the extra mile to cater to our preferences, including making a hard bed for me, which was much appreciated. The overall housekeeping service was impeccable, ensuring our room was always tidy and well-maintained. The check-in process was smooth and professional, setting a positive tone for our stay right from the start. The room design was modern and aesthetically pleasing, with spacious bathrooms that showcased attention to detail and added to the overall comfort of our stay. Although the hotel features only one restaurant and bar, the culinary experience was delightful. While the vegetarian options were somewhat limited, the food was flavorful and satisfying. The breakfast buffet was impressive, offering a wide variety of dishes to suit different tastes. Additionally, the restaurant provided a lovely view, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. Overall, our stay at Gateway Taj, Varkala, was memorable and a perfect way to celebrate my wife's retirement. The combination of beautiful views, excellent service, and comfortable accommodations makes it a destination we would highly recommend.

The room provided to us had electrical issues which couldn't be fixed. Then the room which we were shifted into had pool of water outside. I was traveling with old parents which made the stay risky. There was no house-keeping service at night and no one at the reception. We booked a TAJ property for the goodwill and name it stands for - but the this stay was extremely disappointing. Even the food was vert ordinary and the service was very slow.

It was a walm welcome for my family for the one day stay.Staffs were really knowledgeable and caring.They explained about the hotel premises and the outdoor activities.Room was well maintained.The hotel ambience was really calm and cool.We felt like the breakfast menu can be improved with adding more items.

Day 1 the dinner preparations had took almost 1.15 mins, after we raise our concern they tried to speed it up. But next day they had took corrective action , it was good to see , they took concerns seriously and worked out solution immediately to satisfy customers. Kudos to the Chef and entire restaurant team But the Food menu should be reviewed seriously, since very less options to choose.Not inline with Taj hotels standards.

1. Stay was pleasant and staff were courteous Liked that high tea theme in the evening saayangaalam sabhaashanam 2. Hotel was built in the form of a bird wing which is dedicated to jataayu where there is jataayu earth center ( 27 kms) from hotel

Old fashioned yet well maintained building with nice sea view rooms and lawns. We checked in at 10:30 PM and checked out at 1 PM the next day. Check in was smooth . The welcome drink tasted neutral. Stay was at the Queen suite though a Deluxe room would serve the purpose if one does not intend to use the living room. The Hotel is a 10 minute walk from the beach and we enjoyed our walk and return to the Hotel. The Breakfast buffet was not lavish but one can have a filling breakfast and the staff will cook what is not in the table for you. My little one tried the pool and the kids park and enjoyed both . Owing to time constraints we could not check the SPA or adventure activities. The GM - Mr.Dharmesh was at the door both to welcome us and see us off. Very courteous of him. Definitely the recommended place to stay with family at Varkala.

Overall experience was good. Staffs were friendly and helpful all the times, especially Mr. Reji helped at the time of leaving and familiarize all the functions in the property. Child friendly property and 100% I will recommend. Pool, restaurant Excellent
