What an elegant hotel. Beautiful spacious rooms, the staff is attentive and friendly. There’s a lot of restaurants around the hotel to choose from, the ocean is within a walking distance. I’ll definitely stay here next time I’m in Durban!

As far as Radisson Blu hotels go, this location was a little underwhelming. Everything was a little older and on the cheaper side in terms of finishing. Perfectly ok for a very short stay.

I was very impressed with the Service received from all staff from Front Desk Pocia and Malcolm in the Dinning Area, cleaning of rooms and Pick Up from Airport and Drop Off at Airport by the drivers, everyone made us feel so special and VIP service at all levels. The breakfasts were excellent and well presented and dining area exceptionally clean and tidy, Room 817 was so clean and serviced everyday. A big thank you to all, will definitely be back again at Radisson Blu Umhlanga. Even had a cake in our room on the day of our 58 Birthday thank you.

Avoid this hotel. The service is appalling and the interior quality is functional but not 5*. On arrival, the desk clerk claimed that we'd been upgraded to an executive suite but when we saw the room it was standard, nothing executive at all, I've stayed at better Premier Inns. The hotel is a bit soulless which may suit a corporate stay, but not a special stay. In the morning the rainwater shower flooded, water flowed into the room and I had to use all the towels to form a dam. The wife left without showering for the first time. The nespresso coffee machine did not work and the cups were oversized. We complained and asked to see the manager but were told he was busy banking. Which seemed rather appropriate! The house manager discussed our complaint and promised that the general manager would call us the same day. Later we received an email from the general manager, Themba Mpofu. His email in verbatim below: "Thank you for staying with us at Radisson Blu Umhlanga and I hope you have enjoyed your stay. I believe that there are few things that we not to your satisfaction during your stay. Thank you in advance for highlighting these and looking forward to hear from you." I'd not describe this as good customer service or attention to guests. Not even having the decency to call us and discuss our complaint I find wholly unsatisfactory. I give this hotel a 1 star rating and in future will be booking into the Oyster Box.

Had a superb stay at Radisson Blu in Durban while we were there for a 7 day conference. The room was clean, and the housekeeping staff were lovely to deal with and happy to make the little changes we asked for, for example we wanted still water, not sparkling. We ate in the restaurant every day and the staff there couldn't have been more helpful. The gym was easy to use and always equipped with water and fresh towels. The front desk helped us book taxis, and have us info about ATM's and other questions we had. We enjoyed going for a morning run on the nearby beach.

Executive lounge just offers water. I opened credit to bill my room everyone who served me made me feel like a fraud when tell the to charge things to my room. Lastly I was over charged for the second time and I think it lack of understanding of doing proper invoicing

Room service was poor, zero communication from restaurant. I ordered food at 10pm and the food only brought to my room at 1am which is 3hours later. I constantly had to call the restaurant to get assistance. This for me was a horrible experience.

Check in process was smooth, the staff was very friendly, professional and accommodative. The location is perfect. It’s very close to a wide variety of restaurants, the mall and a short drive to tourist attractions. You can go to Oceans mall straight from the hotel elevator. Perfectly convenient. The room was clean, spacious, with a beautiful sea-facing view. This is my go-to when I am in Umhlanga!
