"I had an absolutely infuriating experience at Normads Hostel. Despite making a reservation two days ahead and confirming it multiple times, their communication was a complete disaster. They kept pestering me to confirm the reservation, but when I asked for specifics about the room, they deliberately ignored my requests until the last minute. When I finally arrived, exhausted from a 180-kilometer journey, I was appalled to find that the room I had clearly requested for just my mom and me was shared with other guests. The staff only responded to my concerns through messages when I was practically at the hostel, seemingly to cover their own mistakes. The worst part? They tried to scam me by demanding payment for all four beds in the room, even though we only needed two. This outrageous attempt at overcharging felt like a blatant fraud. My experience was nothing short of a nightmare, and I would strongly urge anyone considering this hostel to think twice!!!!!"

"Really friendly staff within the hotel! I did however notice numerous stains in parts of my room especially the tiling / walls of the bathroom. Entering and Exiting can be a struggle due to being doorbell operated meaning there can be delays in answering the door for late arrivals. At 5AM during early daylight hours I went downstairs to head out and go for a walk to explore Tunis however one of the staff members was asleep on the hotel couch meaning I had accidentally woken him upon seeking to hesd out that morning. I would consider this hotel again if really necessary."

"Located near the airport, although a long drive to get there. In a neighborhood of restaurants, shops, banks, and other businesses. Well equipped clean rooms. Comfortable bed. Quiet rooms. One problem: Every few seconds the shower went from hot to cold, then cold to hot, then hot to cold, etc. The temperature could not be controlled. Friendly helpful staff. Requests are honored by action. Buffet breakfast with omelets upon request. Option to eat outside under cover. Although the spa is in the hotel, it isn't owned by the hotel. Completely unrelated businesses. Miriam give wonderful relaxing massages, highly recommended. On the other hand the reception was dense, every time couldn't understand what I wanted and when I wanted it, even when a Tunisian person was telling her in her own language. She also had an attitude. I guess that's just something to endure to get a great massage from Miriam."

"Dar El Medina is such a special place — full of history and right in the middle of the Old Medina. My room had that traditional Tunisian style I love, and the rooftop terrace has an incredible view over the city. Breakfast was amazing. It’s not a buffet, but a big sit-down meal that was so good (and so much food) I usually skipped lunch after. The Wi-Fi worked great and the shower had strong water pressure — not something you can always count on in older buildings. What really made my stay though was the people. Everyone there was so kind and helpful. When I lost my passport, they helped me make calls, talk to the right offices, and get everything sorted. The breakfast staff were always smiling and just genuinely nice every morning. If you’re visiting Tunis, I’d definitely recommend staying here. It’s comfortable, beautiful, and run by people who really care."

"I highly recommend this hotel! First off, the male staff at reception was incredibly kind and allowed us to store our luggage. The room itself was very clean, and they cleaned it daily (they also replaced the two towels every day). The shower had a good hot and cold water supply, and they provided shampoo and body soap as amenities. Plus, the lovely woman who cleans the rooms also prepares breakfast, and her hospitality was wonderful every time. The hotel is also close to the city center, so I was very satisfied. My only heads-up is that there are about 5-6 cats at the entrance, so those who aren't fond of cats might want to be aware."
