This hotel was perfect in every way. Clean, comfortable, quiet, and centrally located. Saverio was very helpful with everything: his recommendations for excursions and restaurants were excellent. I cannot say enough good things about our stay. I hope to be back!

WOW. What an amazing place. We loved the traditional stone architecture and spacious room. The location is central and 100m from the main piazza with great places to eat, drink and watch live music. Salverio is such a gracious and helpful host, he helped us book trips, taxis and even posted our post cards for us! Breakfast on the terrace each morning was a real highlight. Stunning views across the ocean. The staff also accommodated my vegan friend by making her soy cappuccinos. Thank you!

If you’re looking for a place to stay in Tropea, you can stop searching because Residenza Il Barone is incredible. From the moment we arrived, Saverio was full of energy, smiling , and greeted us like we were family. He goes above and beyond to make sure you feel comfortable, you’re having fun, and enjoying everything that Tropea has to offer. I don’t speak Italian very well, and Saverio was still able to fully communicate with us and provided amazing recommendations for places to eat, drink, and explore. The rooms were very clean, spacious, and the rooftop terrace is breathtaking. The prices are very reasonable and the residence is in the perfect location, right in the heart of the piazza in a historical building. Saverio organized transfer to and from the airport for us, arranged a boat tour to Capo Vaticano, and also reserved chairs for us down by the beach. He is truly professional, friendly, passionate, and very knowledgeable of the area. The residence is the best place I’ve stayed in Tropea and I cannot wait to go back next summer. Absolutely fantastic location in the heart of the historic city centre. Impeccable service and attention to details. Thank you, Saverio, for being so helpful. We were treated to a delightful breakfast on the top of the terrace and enjoyed beautiful view of the town and sea every morning. Very comfortable rooms, clean and big enough, excellent wi-fi and air condition. A big thank to the entire team for making our trip so special. If you are considering a visit to Tropea, then Residenza il Barone should undoubtedly be at the top of your list.

The location, room and personnel are all great. Couldn't ask for anything more and I'll definitely return and book my next stay at Il Barone. I have to also mention that Saverio was always there for us and went above and beyond to make our stay one of the best we had in Italy.

After a rough travel day we finally arrived to this amazing hotel in the center of Tropea. Ercole stayed late to let us into our room and to give us a quick tour. The hospitality and compassion was much appreciated. Thank you so much to Saverio and Ercole for making us feel at home in a foreign place. Our room was immense and clean. The Executive Suite had an in room hot tub, dining area, extremely comfortable bed and many amenities. The water and coffee were complimentary and we did enjoy one of the exquisite bottles of wine left in the room for €20. It is worth mentioning that there is no lift in this building and our room was on the fourth floor, good for exercise. We made many memories in this location due to being surrounded by restaurants, shops and a quick walk to the stairs that led to the beach. Each night we enjoyed dinner, followed by a soak in the jacuzzi with a local bottle of wine. Despite being in such a central location, the silence and peace once inside the building was comforting. The views from the breakfast area were beautiful and we looked forward to waking up each morning I know this review may sound like rambling, but I cannot fully explain the magic of Residenza il Barone. I was heartbroken the day we left. The history of the building, staff and comfort it gave us felt like home. We cannot wait until the day we return to Tropea for another visit.

Perfectly located in the heart of the beautiful old town of Tropea, this accommodation was our most favourite during out 6 week tour of Italy. We had two rooms and both were super clean, spacious and well appointed. The building itself is an old palace situated on a small piazza off the main drag. The children loved the spa and with a stunning beach (one of the best in Italy) only a short walk away, we were spoilt for choice. The breakfast on the roof top terrace has a stunning view and was a highlight. Saverio was a perfect host and provided us with recommendations on where to go and which travel groups to sight-see with. We were very happy with all of his recommendations. We loved Residenza il Barone and can't wait to get back.

My family and I spent six weeks travelling Italy from top to toe and we all agreed that Tropea was our most favourite destination. It ticked all the boxes - the crystal blue water, the sandy (yes sand, no pebbles) beaches, the grottos, stunning views. I could go on. The icing on the cake was our accomodation - The Residenza il Barone, located in the heart of the old town in a quaint square off the main centre was PERFECT! We loved the hospitality shown by Saverio, the breakfast on the rooftop, the large, clean rooms. We did not want to leave and when we go back, we will stay here again - without question.

I stayed with my partner and my son in La Residena il barone for 11 nights. We had a wonderful time, the staff is very professional and Mr Saverio gave us all the information and support we needed, he was always available and helpful. Plenty of choice for breakfast in the terrace from the classic Italian breakfast to the salty one with scramble eggs and bacon, cheese ad Italian salami. Fresh fruit every morning and the view of Tropea and the sea from the terrace was stunning The place is very central and 10 mins walk from the beach. We will surely come back!!
