Hotel dekat Taipei Railway Station, Taipei

it is a very outdated hotel to be considered 5 star. felt more like an average 4 star hotel. I guess its close proximity to Taipei main station gave it its legacy 5 star rating. also credits to housekeeping for regular daily cleaning of room. downsides: double bed was queen size. was really expecting a king size for a 5 star hotel. headboard above bed was extremely dusty to the touch, and led lights tend to flicker randomly. bathtub + shower is an outdated concept, small shower area to stand in the bathtub is so uncomfortable. furnishing generally looks outdated. worst of all, when all lights are switched off, only a creepy red light (probably from the smoke detector) remains lit right in front of the mirror facing the bed. makes you feel like something gonna jump out from the mirror. horrible experience. you're better off paying a similar price by finding a 4 star hotel which is 2-3 stops away from Taipei main station, potentially bigger rooms, a more comfortable bed and newer fittings.

Super conveniently located, directly above Taipei Main Station which gives great access to the Tamsui-Xinyi Line, as well as the Bannan Line. There was also the vast Taipei Underground mall that leads to many locations, like Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Taipei Station, and Breeze Taipei Station, so one is never bored and there are places to go even in inclement weather. As for the hotel itself, let's just say it DEFINITELY has its charms. The décor is quaint and aged, and the room definitely is showing it's age, but the aesthetic was not necessarily a negative. It's just a certain kind of charm that takes awhile 2 appreciate. Age and décor aside, the hotel totally makes it up with it's service. The staff were very attentive, efficient and friendly. From the front desk, concierge, down to the wait staff at the breakfast restaurant, we were treated very warmly. As for the negative, the air-conditioning is actually central and when we checked in, our room aircon was not cold and was rather warm, turns out that the filter was very dirty and not well-maintained, but kudos to the maintenance staff who was quick and efficient in trying to rectify the issue. Throughout our stay though, the aircon still had its ups and downs, but that is what was to be expected from a central aircon system I guess. Overall, very much recommended for its location and service.

Booked the 5 person room for 3 people to have more space. It was clean and comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located a few minutes away from Taipei Main Station so it was very easy to get around. The hotel was also located in a bustling area with many eateries. Checking in and out was quick and easy. My friend sent a parcel to the hotel for me and the staff kindly kept it until I arrived at the hotel. Staff were also helpful and polite. Highly recommended.

Location is good, a number of nice food and bubble tea options around the area, and even more of them within walking distance. Also walking distance from Taipei train station and MRT station. Room was clean and had nice touches like a full length mirror, universal power plug, smart tv that can play Youtube videos, interesting wall art (seems like each room has its own design, mine was the little mermaid). The window I had behind the bed faced the outside street. Overall happy with the place, would be happy to stay again.

This is a good place to stay if you need to be very near to Taipei Main Station and Taoyuan Airport MRT, with the latter just less than 5 minutes to the ticketing and platform area. Few steps only from Y13 exit of Taipei City Mall underground, to get to the MRT exits Y16 and Y20 is easily reached on the opposite side below. Word of caution though, the hotel does not have any lifts which maybe troublesome for those with heavy luggage. However, once you reach the reception at level 2 via stairs at the main entrance, the rooms inside are relatively big enough at a low price compared to nearby hotels on this area. Safe locker and fridge is also provided with a sofa near the bed, though having a room with no windows means the dirt might accumulate on some of the corners. The amenities are at level 6 such as the laundry area and main breakfast/eating area. The breakfast included on this booking is good enough to start the day, consisting of dumplings, baos and bread with spreads. Vending machines for coffee and tea is present, and I appreciate the hotel’s initiative for us to self clean the utensils, plates and mugs after use. Housekeeping though is only done once unless requested. Instead of key card, actual keys are used to access the rooms. The card included is for the main entrance for use when arriving late at night. Overall I still experience a comfortable stay and might consider it again.

Overall good experience. The location is excellent as it’s only several minutes walk from Taipei Station. The staff is very helpful, our first room had drain noise, and he helped us to swap to the 2nd room, however, that room had smoky smell, and he managed to move us to the 3rd room. Rooms are clean, however, the mini fridge is very noisy, and the shower head is not adjustable and make the shower a bit difficult. This building has restaurant, offices and 2 different hotels, so the logistics of using the lifts is a bit inconvenient. Overall good value.

Cons: 1. The toilet and shower room was so small and it was a bit see through. 2. The room was dark, weak lighting and had really bad soundproof. 3. There was a small blood stain in the bed sheet. 4. Wifi was too slow and bad connection. Pros: 1. Good location.

Very convenient location close to Taipei main station and Ximen area- we stayed several times for short stopovers in Taipei - also easy to reach from Taoyuan Airport with the AirPort Express. Get the easy card for public transport - it’s more widely accepted than 7eleven iCash and remeining balance can be refunded at the end of your trip at the airport

Room 201 somewhat appealing with large closet bathroom and tug with a comfortable bed and sleeping area With the above commends it is however failed me with the bathroom facilities of a pathetic size and inconvenience use of the washing basin which lacks hotwater hooked up  i have to use the bathtub and it wasted 5 minutes of water flow before any noticeable trace of hot water  The water basin setup was a breaking point if it is not just an overnight stay  The bath has at least 70 sqft and it needs complete made over with the climbing bathtub access difficult even for a 6 feet person ( it looks like for wheelchair setup )

I love the concept of the hostel. We choose the twin bedroom. Just a small space consist of just a twin (bunk)bed. Below they put a sofa that can be use as a bed as well. So another (third) person can sleep there. Wash basin, and shower is inside the room but toilet is outside. Communal toilets have bidets which is major love for us Malaysians. Complete enough amenities for a traveller like us that will always be outside anyway. There are pantry with hot water and fridge. But u have to bring ur own cups and utensils. There is one washing machine and one dryer upstairs that can be used before 10pm as to avoid disturbing sleeping guests. Other self service laundry available nearby. Recommend stay for people on the go.
