"The hotel is centrally located. Under the hotel is a large public parking garage, so ideally for travellers by car. When you walk outside of the door you are at the central market. The rooms are simple but spacious. This time we did not take the breakfast."

"Super-central, but still quiet. With us communication Super, a few days before again very nice and helpful telephone, the PIN for access + additional pin for bike garage is available on the arrival day by mail. We had app. "North Light", that's app. with garden view in 1.OG. All right. Small kitchen line with refrigerator, and for 2 pers. everything is there. But the main win is simply the bathroom MIT window. Shower backpack wonderfully hot water, and also really enough for 2 "Warm Duches". This leads unfortunately to the only small criticism point, because water pressure/quantity is unfortunately a little small, yet we have felt very well and can recommend it 100% further. Breakfast is optional on request, in the neighbouring hotel Theresientor for 16,- p.P., and also there 100% additional recommendation. Bike space in small garage just next to entrance (Extra PIN code)."

"we have been going to the ASAM for many years now and have never been disappointed. Rooms are spacious and always very clean. Comfortable beds give a really restful sleep. The hotel is a 20minute walk to the town square but the staff can organise a taxi for those with mobility issues. The food including breakfast is excellent and the beer is always cold and tasty. Overall this is an excellent place to stay if in Strraubing, highly recommended."

"My wife and I stayed for two nights in one of the four penthouse suites (Villa Boutique Suite). These are located in the new extension. Check-in was friendly; we were even able to check in two hours early, and robes and slippers were provided in our room. All I can say about the suite is that it is incredibly stylish and modern. It was about 30 degrees Celsius outside both days, but the air conditioning still did a great job. We were able to sleep without breaking a sweat. Incidentally, it was also the first hotel in Straubing where we didn't have any subtenants (spiders) in our suite. This was particularly important to us, and a big compliment to the housekeeping team for that. The building has its own underground parking garage, which we could use for 15 euros a night. Given the high outside temperatures, it was ideal for us. The hotel's location was also perfect for us. It was five minutes from the city center, and the train station is just around the corner. However, it still wasn't quite five stars. The only negative was that the refrigerator in our suite didn't work. It was set to maximum, but the drinks were warm. The glass door to the restroom also didn't provide enough privacy (very thinly soundproof). But so far, no hotel in Germany has been able to satisfy us. We didn't have breakfast, but we did research the buffet. Unfortunately, they don't serve scrambled eggs; only on request and when it's not too busy. Without scrambled eggs, it's not a proper breakfast for us. Nevertheless, we will check in there again on our next visit to Straubing, as it still impressed us the most."

It was generous, tasty, and served by the absolute friendliest lady who greeted and treated everybody like they were family. What an extraordinarily professional service. "We were treated very poorly by the staff, who were very preoccupied with the event taking place at the hotel. Because of this, guests were not allowed in the restaurant, and worse, before breakfast was even over, they were already removing us from the restaurant. It's truly absurd that this would happen in a supposedly 4-star hotel. THE GUEST ALWAYS COMES FIRST... that's how it should have been..."

"Interesting concept, appealing ambiance – the dark tones take some getting used to, but nothing that would deter us from a return visit. What we believe urgently needs improvement, however, is the attitude of the staff towards their actual employer: the guest. We weren't greeted with a "Good evening" or "Good morning" either at check-in or check-out. That evening, we were greeted by a lady at the reception desk who seemed rather bored, as if she'd been transferred on punishment, and who didn't give off a particularly well-groomed impression. The next morning, a similar picture emerged: Another employee was so busy with her cell phone and laptop that neither a greeting nor eye contact was possible. A smile? Apparently not included in the price. In the end, despite the architectural quality, the overall experience was unfortunately not a truly positive one."
