"This 4-star mountain hotel has a nice atmosphere. The room was comfortable, although the decoration made it feel a bit like a Barbie house, which may not be to everyone’s taste. We had dinner at the hotel and the food was excellent, definitely one of the highlights of our stay. Overall, a pleasant experience with good service and quality dining."

"Our family traveled to Vamvakou to visit our yia yia's home village. It was an emotional experience for us, and the hospitality at the Ruga guest house was exceptional. Angeliki and Takis helped us with our arrival instructions and bags. Nota, made a wonderful breakfast, and helped us with any questions we had about the village. If she did not know the answer, she called someone and fount it for us. The rooms were immaculate. We stayed in Marigo, which has a wonderful balcony, where we could gaze out on the village and listen to the birds sing. Tsevoula was a cave-like room, which was a really special place to sleep. Both rooms had a wet bar, with reasonable prices. There were no problems with the rooms. Thank you everyone for making our stay special! Donna Sheedy and family"

"The environment is beautiful, surrounded by a vast olive grove. One old olive tree in the garden is even thicker than the 900-year-old olive tree in Nafplio's city center. The Mystras, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is right across the street. The staff are friendly, the breakfast is plentiful, and you can even experience making traditional Greek coffee. Due to a rushed itinerary, I didn't get to use the spa or tennis courts. One room only provides two 500ml bottles of mineral water; extras cost extra, which is a bit stingy. Otherwise, everything was great."

"We stayed here for a week, encouraged by the positive reviews on Tripadvisor, and we were delighted with the whole experience. The hotel exceeded our expectations. It is a lovely building with well furnished and spacious rooms. The staff are very friendly and helpful and keep the hotel very clean throughout. Breakfast was amazingly good, including hot options that changed daily. We ate most evenings at the Piccadilly taverna close by, where the owner speaks English and is very friendly. We chose the Greek food and enjoyed every meal here. We visited Monemvassia but mostly our time was spent walking in the Taygetos range, on well-signposted paths. Lovely scenery and wild flowers."

"We went to the pool, they charge €15 per bed/chair, nothing included. If you want a towel it is another €5. Other hotels/resorts in the area include a drink and towels in the price. We were 5 adults and 2 kids, chairs, lunch, and a few soft drinks was over €170. The only reason we came is because the other resort pool was sold out. I don’t know how this place is still open or doing business, must be a front for something. There was barely anyone there and I didn’t see anyone staying in the hotel."
