The hotel is located next to the Hongcun Upper Canal, and the location is very good. The hotel is clean and hygienic, and the owner is considerate and attentive. He contacted the connection in advance and arranged for the waiter to pick us up at the West Parking Lot. The waiter was very nice and the service was very practical. I will choose this B&B again if I have the chance to come here next time, and I will also recommend it to my friends.

Service: The staff were extremely accommodating and welcoming! We were able to communicate via WeChat and organize transportation beforehand.
Location: This guesthouse is a 5 minute drive from the main Hongcun Village entrance and the owners kindly drove us there! Although this hotel isn’t inside the village itself, it’s still convenient and in a quiet location!
It’s a 1 hour drive from the Huangshan North Railway station and 1 hour drive to the Huangshan Tangkou Transfer Center.
Food: There’s a restaurant on-site which has an extensive dinner menu. Honestly, you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner without leaving the premises! Very convenient and the food is good quality- highly recommend.
Amenities: The guesthouse is newly renovated and has top notch furnishings. Everything is clean and comfortable. The floor heating was nice to have in December!

The room type was upgraded to a two-bedroom villa in Lu Village, which was a small surprise when checking in. Banyan Tree Huangshan, which I had been thinking about for a long time, is indeed a first-class location, and the view of Lu Village is great. The details of the service and the quality of breakfast still have room for improvement, after all, it is a luxury hotel at this price.
There is a very well-behaved, cute and docile Xiaobai in the park, but one of its eyes seems to be a little inflamed. Can your hotel help Xiaobai treat it?

The service is super nice. The hotel provides a lobby on the first floor for guests to rest. It also prepares tea, fruit and baked sweet potatoes.
The food is also delicious, but it is a bit salty for people like me who like light taste. If you have the same preference, you can remind the hotel to make the dishes lighter.
The housekeeper asked me if I had any opinions, and I replied that I couldn't think of them for the time being. The only 0.5 points deducted is that the surrounding area is being renovated, and it may be a little dusty when you return to the hotel.
That's right! There are two fat cats and a parrot in the hotel. It feels quite novel.
In short, I think you will definitely not be disappointed if you stay here

PPJQLocated beside the South Entrance to the village and facing the water-body (see photo of hotel with red banners). Unlike most hotels within the village, this hotel has conserved the architecture of the exterior and interior of the over 300 years old structure. It is well maintained with modern amenities and a nice manicured garden filled with bonsai plants. The Chinese breakfast was simple and nice. The menu has a good range of beverages and the food was good at reasonable prices.
The room we stayed was small but cozy. It is within the main building and just outside the room there is a reading lounge. It was quiet and hardly used while we were there.

GGuest UserMy family and I (5 of us) recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming homestay in Hongcun for two days and one night, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The building, steeped in history at 400 years old, is located relatively close to the West entrance, making access a breeze. The rooms were beautifully decorated, clean, and well-kept. Although I initially booked three specific rooms, they were unavailable due to renovation. However, I was provided with three other rooms that turned out to be more spacious, which was a delightful surprise.
The lobby felt incredibly welcoming, with a cozy living-room-style atmosphere. There’s a lovely café to the left and a souvenir shop to the right, adding a nice touch of convenience and charm as you walk toward the living area. Wan Jie (elder sister Wan), the host, was truly hospitable and attentive. Her warmth shone through from our first phone call, which she answered cheerfully while helping arrange our pickup, as cars aren’t allowed into Hongcun, a UNESCO Heritage Site.
One of the highlights of this homestay was the restaurant nestled in a ”secret” garden—a serene and picturesque spot where my family and I could have happily spent more time. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, adding to the overall experience. Though it was too cool to use during my visit, the homestay also features a pool that would be perfect for summer days.
At the end of our stay, Wan Jie went above and beyond by accompanying us to the village exit to wait for our driver, ensuring everything went smoothly before saying her goodbyes. It’s rare to experience such personalized hospitality, and it made a memorable impression on us.
Based on my positive experience, I would highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Hongcun. It’s a unique blend of history, comfort, and genuine hospitality that truly enhances the visit.

DDavidPGPerfect location, very friendly and helpful staff. The entrance to the hotel is a cute, beautiful courtyard, everything is close by. Communication was easy via WeChat, they came to pick us up and carried out heavy luggage all the way to the parking lot, and helped us do laundry in the hotel. The only comments are that the room got some noise from the street, which was very busy at all times, and it wasn’t very well ventilated. They replaced our towels and toiletries but they didn’t make the bed or clean up the room.
In any case this is a great choice for spending a couple of nights right in the middle of Hongcun!

EEstelle_MiiIt's a short distance from the main street, and it's relatively quiet. I took my children and stayed there for two nights on the way back. The room has heating, and it's very comfortable to live in. It's more convenient to live in Hongcun by car, and you can go to several surrounding villages quickly. The ancient buildings in Xidilu Village are better preserved, and there are fewer people.

GGuest UserA very satisfying stay! The room is large, with simple decoration style, complete facilities, and a clean and tidy environment. I chose the second floor to see the distant scenery, which is great! The surrounding area is quiet and not far from various attractions.
The boss is very considerate and helped arrange carpooling, pick us up at the entrance of the scenic spot, and also provided a tour route. I will stay here again next time I come to play~

The ancient village is a bit sad and beautiful, a bit smart but not lacking in vitality. The vitality truly comes from Tachuan Academy built by a few young people. In Tachuan Academy, you can watch clouds, listen to springs, step on rice waves, smell the fragrance of rice, wait for sunset and admire the red leaves of century-old tallow trees. B&B owners and partners work together with their deep local insights to build a beautiful life platform where rural and urban areas blend. The owners of the B&B are either diligent and thrifty in the rice fields and streams, or studying in prestigious universities, or traveling to improve their knowledge. They are grand, natural, modest and young and mature. The owner of the B&B has never stopped studying after graduating from college. Her longitude, latitude and altitude support her attitude and cognition towards the B&B. A few young people worked persistently on a deserted village and farmland, gathered sand to form a pagoda, and a stream flowed into the river. They finally created the peaceful and harmonious Tachuan Academy, creating a spiritual home that advocates truth, goodness and beauty. Mr. Liang Shuming wrote a book ”Will the World Be Better?” 》. The host and team told me that the world will get better and better, thank you!

GGuest UserThe Pig’s Inn is a very cozy place that makes you feel like home. Bishan village is far away from the city so I asked the hotel for help with taxi arrangement. Manager Fang Xin (方鑫) gave me the contact to the driver who was always on time and gave me lots of tips about hiking up mount Huang. The room in the hotel was really clean and warm regardless of the very cold weather outside. The hotel staff is super nice, they waited for us with dinner till really late. As my family is really picky when it comes to food Pig’s Inn was a perfect place to eat dinner and breakfast as they made all the dishes according to the needs of my family. In the evening there was a huge spider in our room (came there suddenly), the nice woman form the hotel helped us to remove it from the room. Everything was perfect and our trip was really nice thanks to the Pig’s Inn ☺️

NNatascha B.Very nice hotel, perfectly located opposite of the Hongcun Scenic area. The staff was very welcoming and set up a Wechat group for infos and questions. Our room was very clean and cosy. The hotel has a free afternoon-tea from 2-5pm and you have to make a reservation in advance because the time seats are limited. It is located in a cost tea house. The tea and snacks served were nice and delicious. The outdoor pool was refreshing and clean, with a nice view. To Hongcun you can just take a 5 minute walk and leave the car at the hotel. There is also a Covid-Testing station directly next to the entrance of the Scenic area. For breakfast they had a big selection of local food, we really liked it. The only negative point we have to say that the tea in the morning tasted not good, they didn’t use filtered water, so it had a moldy old taste. All in all I can really recommend the hotel and would book it again. The location and the staff was really great!
