The Bowden Lodge

The best BnB we've ever stayed in. The hosts are friendly and will go out of their way to help.A delicious breakfast either cooked or cereals and fruit, a great way to start the day! Comfortable ensuite rooms and a short walk to Lord Street. Would definitely recommend.

I visited Bowden Lodge with my son and we had a lovely warm welcome from Jane the host. We were over visiting family and my sister came with us to check in and drop off our bags. Jane very kindly allowed my sister up to our room to drop the bags off as we were going straight out again. Our room was a twin. Quite compact but lovely and cosy and very clean. We were in room 7 on the top floor and we had no rooms near us so very peaceful. The rooms are serviced daily and they do have a sign about towels being changed. If you want them changed then leave in shower but they also ask that if you are happy to re use them to keep them hung up. Great idea as it's better for the environment. We were there 3 nights and were happy to re use. There is a mini bar down on the first floor and very reasonably priced and I would have been happy to use it but we were out most nights till late. It does beer,gin,chocolate bars and wine . Really peaceful nights sleep and down for a delicious breakfast, Breakfast was served between 8 and 9. You have a choice from fresh fruit and yogurt,cereal,pan au chocolate and can also have a cooked breakfast. Cooked breakfast was gorgeous. You can also try a Chorley Cookie freshly made by Jane. OUT OF THIS WORLD! There is a carpark on the property too but we did not use this facility. We actually stayed at Bowden Lodge a couple off weeks after the terrible tragedy in Southport. This did not put us off going and we felt very safe. Lovely people in Southport and well worth a visit. Thank you once again Jane and Andy for your hospitality and hope to see you again soon.

This guest house is a short walk from Southport town centre, which is very convenient. Jane and Andy make you feel very welcome, and want to make your stay with them as comfortable as possible. My room was spotlessly clean, with all the normal extras provided. There is a delicious and substantial breakfast. Very good value. I will definitely book there again on my next visit to Southport!

Have just returned from a 2 night stay at Bowden Lodge. I am so pleased I found this gem of a B & B. My friend and I couldn’t fault anything. The room was very quiet, spotless and had everything we needed. Fresh milk was provided instead of the dreaded UHT you normally get. There were lovely touches as in chocolates and a little box containing things you may have forgotten. It was in a great location to access Southports attractions. Jane and Andy couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. Thank you. We would love to stay again. Oh and I forgot the great breakfast!!

This was our 4th trip to Bowden lodge, as ever greater by Jane and Andy like old friends. I cannot rate this place highly enough. From the warm welcome, to the cleanest rooms, to the mini bar, to the amazing breakfast. We had some lovely food with the great discounts by using the discount card. Not forgetting the little forget me box, great little touch and came in handy this time. Jane went the extra mile as usual, decorated our room, as my daughter is getting married soon. Had a great 5 night stay here whilst doing a course nearby. Extremely clean and well thought out B&B. Delicious breakfast with homemade items. I appreciated the fresh milk in the room each day for tea/coffee, and the mini bar/fridge in the room. Lovely shower in the bathroom. Ample parking. Hosts, Jane and Andy, are so friendly and accommodating. Would love to stay again when in the area and make more use of the comfy lounge in the property and the on site gardening sessions.
