Hotel Il Nido Sorrento

We have stayed at Il Nido several times on trips to Sorrento, have also stayed at other hotels in Sorrento town but this year decided to return to an old favourite. We weren't disappointed, it's still a great family run hotel, run by a wonderful family who have always made us feel very welcome. The view from the terrace and our balcony is nothing short of stunning and we loved sitting out enjoying a lovely breakfast each morning with the stunning view. The local hotel bus that stops just outside the hotel is very easy and takes you down into the town mornings and evenings. Once you find where to get on it for the return trip and which bus it is, it's easy. There is a break in service in the afternoon but that didn't worry us. Sorrento was as lovely as ever, with some lovely little shops and restaurants to discover, along the cobbled alleyways. It still remains one of our favourites places and it's a great base to visit all the surrounding islands and other places along the Amalfi coast, all of which are stunning.

Hotel Il Nido was our second stay in Italy. We were there for three nights. Our room was beautiful and spacious and our view from our balcony was Mt. Vesuvius. How awesome, is that? The owner was very personable and helpful with tour plans. The meals were totally amazing and we purposely ate back at the hotel every night to relax on the terrace enjoying the fabulous cuisine. The breakfast buffet was so inclusive not one more thing needed to be added. The free shuttle service was a big plus. Thank you so much for such wonderful memories of Sorrento!

We were a group of 5. The rooms were large and comfortable. Everything was very clean. Dealing with Gianni online was so easy. He answered quickly and helped organise tours for us - pick up from the hotel. Pick up from the hotel was so much easier when one of the party is 82 years old. The breakfast was a generous buffet. Lots of variety and very fresh orange juice. We had dinner at the restaurant most nights as everything we chose was delicious. The wait staff were very kind. The manager, Dino, would be there asking if all was good. The tours we chose picked us up from the hotel. We visited Capri and the Amalfi Coast. We went to Pompeii. The town of Sorrento has alleys of shops to buy souvenirs. We loved this area and the hotel. We are going back next year and staying here again! There was washing machines and dryers available for guests too. Very helpful. Thank you Dino for all your advice and help. Dino even gave us a gift on check out. We appreciated the hospitality.

Fully agree with everything already written, and worthy of a 5 star review. We booked a larger sea view room with 3 beds (though only 2 of us), and the view from the balcony was spectacular. We took a half board option, and the choice of food was plentiful, well cooked, and delicious. The shuttle bus works really well, and albeit a few mins late every now and then, was never cancelled. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. We would not hesitate to recommend this lovely hotel to people wanting to visit the area. Unrelated to the hotel, the train from Sorrento to Pompei/Naples is not great. Compare it to rush hour on the London Underground, with plastic seats, and you'll get an idea how bad it is! Maybe better to consider coach travel to the main attractions!

Just incredible! What a lovely family-run hotel. The kindest and most attentive staff. The hotel is very clean, and the restaurants offers a relaxed dining experience. Breakfast was delicious, and was complimented with a tremendous view over the bay of Sorrento. The owner went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. I would definitely recommend!

I had a fantastic stay at this place. The highlight was the beautiful balcony overlooking the bay of Naples—an absolutely stunning view. The breakfast was delicious, with a great variety of options to start the day. The overall experience was top-notch, and the staff were incredibly welcoming. Highly recommend this spot for anyone visiting Naples!
