Vesterland is the place where I came with my family, we stayed in a beautiful cabin, we were surrounded by forest and nature. All recommendations for arrival, I had breakfast, as well as dinner the night before, I am very satisfied with the recommendations.

We spent two nights in a one bedroom cottage here and we very satisfied with our stay. The cottage was clean, comfortable and spacious, with everything a visitor could need for a short stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful, suggesting accommodation options that were the most useful to us rather than what we would pay most for. The resort is very conveniently placed for exploring local fjords, mountains etc. It's great for families, offering a warm pool and a large playing area with complicated climbing structures, inflatables, slides and play houses for children to enjoy.

Vesterland is a large place, with both hotel rooms and cottages, pool, gym, golf simulator, children's playground, etc. - and we were initially apprehensive, as we didn't want to stay at a overly loud place that cares more about how to "sound" good, than pay attention to its customers, having so many of them. However, it's was close to Sognefjord and nothing else was available, so we booked a cottage there. Turned out it was a great choice! The cottage was spotless, the reception was no-nonsense helpful, and the restaurant, while having limited choices, served tasty food. it was also pretty quiet and didn't feel like you are swarmed everywhere by people. The cottage itself had everything one might want for either camping or just a rest from it, and was very enjoyable. They also don't charge or require cleaning if you stay for one night, and if you stay for more, you can choose what to clean yourself and what to pay for so it would be done for you (cleaning/washing dishes/garbage/ removing of linen, etc.). We had a very nice stay, that was both private and accommodating.

We arrived late on the Sogndal plane from Oslo and caught the public transport bus directly from the Airport which stops opppsite the Hotel. As the sun never fully sets during summer, we then enjoyed a relaxing but stunning balcony view. The staff were a highlight as they went out of their way to ensure our time with them went very well, and on each occasion (eg on arrival, departure and over breakfast) they provided us valueable direction on making our holiday a success. The Hotel has a great deal to offer a family travelling in rural Western Norway, and would be a great ski lodge in Winter.

We hebben via buro scanbrit een rondreis geboekt en Vesterland was onze 2e locatie. We kwamen aan vanuit Lillehammer en hebben de Jotunheimen route genomen via de bergpassen met gletsjers en watervallen. Dit duurde ongeveer 6,5 uur zonder lang te stoppen. We moesten namelijk een fjord cruise halen dus was even krap qua tijd. (Tip, boek geen excursie op een reis dag, plannen ze dit zo in toch even laten omgooien haha) Het ontvangst bij Vesterland was vriendelijk en inchecken ging lekker vlot, we hadden huisje 4b langs een park weggetje, probeer deze huisjes te mijden als het lukt want de Aziatische toeristen moeten vroeg de bus hebben en kunnen dan mogelijk massaal met trollies langs je huisje komen banjeren. Positief is dat ze haast hebben dus het is maar kort hihi Ook zat dit huisje bij het was hok en waren de park medewerkers ook al vroeg aan de slag. Vroeg opstaan is in dit gebied natuurlijk geen straf want er is genoeg te doen. Het huisje zelf was klein maar voorzien van een 2 persoons bed en een stapelbed voor de kinderen. Ok keukentje helaas miste het vriesvak in de koelkast. Badkamer klein maar prima, fijne douche. Op een heuveltje kun je met uitzicht bbq-en. Er staan picknicktafels. Restaurant is ok, zwembad ook even leuk voor de kinderen. Onderaan het park start een wandelpad door het bos, we hebben het niet helemaal uitgelopen maar toch leuk bos erbij incl overal blauwe bessen! Sogndal heeft wat winkels (betaald parkeren), maar ga je rechts het park af kom je al snel een extra supermarkt tegen en tankstation. We hebben hier de cruise en mountainbike excursie gedaan, verwachte er niet veel van maar was super leuk! Je vaart een stukje mee door de fjord en stapt af bij de ciderfarm die je even kunt bezoeken. De eigenaar Alex heeft ons even rondgeleid en veel verteld. We hebben 2 flesjes cider gekocht, erg lekker met laag alcohol percentage. Vervolgens zijn we op de e - mountainbikes gestapt. Dit gaat flink rap! De fietsen voor de kinderen (8 en 11) waren prima, kijk ze goed na want de rem van mijn zoon bleek stuk. En die heb je down hill echt nodig. Je gaat ook stukje door een bos pad, hier zijn wij als onervaren maar even afgestapt. Ook hebben we hier de Nigardsbreen gletsjier hike short voor kinderen gedaan. Ga met een volle buik op pad, het is doorwandelen en bij de gletsjer aangekomen bind je de ijsklimschoentjes onder en loop je over de gletsjer langs scheuren en gaten. Dat wil je fit doen want ik vond het best spannend met de kinderen. Maar echt een geweldige ervaring. We hadden ook een Nepalese gids die ons leuk en goed heeft begeleid. Top dag! Als laatste activiteit hebben we een rib boot tocht gemaakt door de nearofjord vanuit Flam. Dit is geweldig! Ook een fijne gids die ons heel veel informatie gaf tijdens de tocht, vanaf z’n snelle boot is het wel echt prachtig door de fjord. Hierna hebben we wat gegeten in flam, dit is heel toeristisch. Superbes cabines au calme et resort avec plein de jeux pour enfants. Les maisons en bois sont assez grandes pour 5 et agréables même si c'est rustique. La piscine est chauffée et quasiment déserte quand nous y étions ! Idéal pour les familles

Hôtel pour les enfants. Piscine, aire de jeux énorme mais impossible d’aller à la piscine sans avoir un enfant qui vous saute dessus. Chambres à l étage sans ascenseur : mais comment font les handicapé ??? On a pris une chambre pour trois. Donc canapé lit. Mais matelas de mince épaisseur et tout grince au moindre mouvement!!! La personne a fini par dormir par terre! Restau correct. Petit dej correct. L équipe a offert de petit déjeuner après nos Plaintes.

Toplocatie met gezin. Erg gezellig en knus huisje met open haard. Zwembad is top en je mag tot 23.00 uur zwemmen. Binnenspeeltuin is prima voor wat extra vermaak. Ligt ook er mooi, receptie is vriendelijk en helpt met tips waar nodig. Koffie helaas niet goed.
