"My husband and I booked to stay at Niso Skiathos (a wonderful and professionally run family business) for a week in September and we were having so much fun we extended for another week! Niso Skiathos is hands down the place to stay at if you are planning to visit Skiathos. Walking distance to all restaurants, supermarket, the shopping areas, tourist attractions and the port. You can hire a car and bikes from the hotel at a very good price but we just used the bus. The bus stop is just a five minute walk from the hotel, if that! Now, as far as the Niso Skiathos goes. AMAZING!!! From the wonderful owners (Eleni and Dimitris) to the amazing staff we met (Panagiotis, Frida and Lira). They couldn't do enough for us. Always there if you needed anything and recommendations on beaches, restaurants and areas to visit. Ask them anything they'll help. I was looking for a specific glass for my friend, which I couldn't find in any shop and Eleni found one for me. Just brilliant service all round!!! As for cleanliness. Unbelievable! You can eat off the floors they are so clean. Every day they change your bedding and towels and the floors are spotless!! You also get a basket full of goodies, a bottle of large water, teas and coffee capsules every day. Yes, the basket gets refilled each day. Seriously, just ask them anything. They go way and beyond. When we next come to Skiathos, we are definitely staying here again. Thank you Eleni and everyone for making our holiday so wonderful, fun, restful and amazing. Polla Filakia Paul & Katerina"

"Really nice place - with great accomodation - Linen/towels changed every two days - very clean and quiet Rooms are decent size with fridge/ cooking equipment and safe Unfortunately we had a problem with the swimming pool for the second week. The first week the pool was crystal clear and very good- no one else using it so it felt like we were in a private garden. Overnight after a storm the pool turned green and murky. Depsite pointing this out to the reception nothing was done to sort this problem out for the last week of our visit so we had no pool at all. We did receive some refund but that is not the point. On a hot day you need the pool. I guess as it was comong up to end of season that they were just not going to bother to do anything about it"

"Firstly,I would take the negative reviews with a pinch of salt. Some are downright unfair and untrue. As far as the steps,slopes and walking are concerned you know when you book it as its highlighted,tho there is,in my opinion much scaremongering about it. My husband and i are in our late 60s w the inevitable arthritic changes,but its not been an issue tho we choose the road rather than the steps. The free shuttle the hotel provides is fab!! Staff are polite and heardworking and very helpful We are here now room 620,and we absolutely love it. The views are simply amazing. I requested a higher floor for the views and was grateful to get one...thank you so much. Breakfast is good and everything run efficiently. Pool bar lovely,if a bit expensive,but Skiathos tends to err on the more expensive,but worth it. Cleanliness is excellent.All in all a relaxing,calm atmosphere with stunning views. We would definitely recommend,and would return."

The location is perfect in the centre of Agia Paraskevi just across the road from the gorgeous beach. The pool and bar is so clean We have been on the island many times and this time was our honeymoon what has made this holiday most memorable has been our host Eva we got the warmest welcome she made us feel like family and nothing is too much trouble for her. "The positives: Fabulous position with stunning views. Close to two lovely beaches. Nice rooftop restaurant / bar serving great breakfast and meals all day. Anna and Lucas and their small team on the rooftop were friendly and did a great job. The Negatives: Our room was horrible. Shower flooded the bathroom as it didn't drain properly. I slipped on the wet floor hurting my back. I reported to reception. Maintenance came but never fixed the problem. At checkout the receptionist asked me if the problem had been fixed !!! No mirror in bedroom. No smoke alarm ( legal requirement) no safety notice in case of fire etc ( legal requirement). Wires protuding from ceiling in bathroom and bedroom where lights should have been. Poor quality ( stiff and like sandpaper) sheets and bedding that were too small for the bed. Room overall very dirty. Floor not swept or washed once while we were there. Empty paint tins and rubbish pushed in bushes by footpath. At checkout I spoke to the owner and told him my concerns. He was very rude to me and effectively called me a liar just trying to be negative. Told me if I don't like it don't stay here !!!! I questioned his as to why he never responds to messages on Tripadvisor and he said he doesn't need to as he doesn't care what people think !!! Unbelievable. Definitely NOT a 5*. Its a pity that the owner is so arrogant and knows that people will stay there because of location even though it is a poor quality hotel."

"It’s a nice place. Fantastic location 5 minutes to the beach and 10 minutes to town and you can walk along the beach to town as well as the road. The hill is not too steep as some people say it’s just a slight incline it’s no problem. The hotel is clean and rooms cleaned every day and fresh towels. The staff are very friendly and pleasant. Bar is good limited choice of food and drinks. Breakfasts of choice but not too keen on their version of bacon and sausage but plenty of other stuff to eat. Pool area clean and pleasant very comfy beds. Now for the negatives! Pool beds all taken by 8am most days so you need to be up. We paid extra for deluxe pool view but was disappointed with the room. We were allocated room 101 right next to reception and the very small terrace was along side the entrance of reception and about 5 metres from the bar so we had zero privacy and it was noisy. Asked to live but hotel was full manager did try to keep reception noise to a minimum after complaining but the maid cart was also outside our room so we were woken most days around 7am. I guess it’s the luck of the draw. The shower room needs a bit of a refurb it was not the best but clean and adequate. The room also only had a wardrobe no other storage no draws at all and just a shelf my husband could not unpack. So all in all it’s too good to give a 3 out of 5 but a 4 feels generous! I would look at returning perhaps to the suits and villas as the proximity was perfect. I would not return to the hotel but my daughter and her partner absolutely loved it so it’s all just a matter of what works for you."

"The hotel was really lovely, a small boutique hotel in lovely gardens, The rooms were large and had everything you needed for a relaxing stay. Breakfast was excellent and lots to choose from. The staff were great, very helpful and friendly. Stand out was Miranda who greeted you every day with a smile. The staff were very cheery until day 7 of our 9 night stay, don't know what happened but us and other guests noticed a change with them on day 7, suddenly although friendly were much more subdued and feel that something happened to them which was a shame. Lunch was great but have to say the one evening meal we had wasn't good, i ordered veal with mash, the veal fatty and the mash like water and when asked how was your meal didn't do much about it, gave me a glass of cheap house wine . Highly recommend this hotel but the reason we wouldn't go back is the area isn't a village, just a long busy road with tavernas by the roadside Buses into town were frequent and very busy, Halkadiki town fabulous"

"Just returned from a week at Mystery Suites. Had a lovely holiday but surprised by the extremely good reviews that the hotel receives. On arrival we couldn’t get into our room until 3 pm which was a little frustrating and isn’t what we’ve been used to when on a package holiday. Breakfast is very basic and as mentioned by other people is orange squash not fresh orange juice. There is one coffee machine that is very temperamental and only fills half a cup. I noticed that another guest asked for a pot of tea so I did the same and was told they only have 1 pot. We had paid for half board and were told when we checked in we would be eating in the à la carte restaurant. When we went down for our meal we were presented with a sheet and told we could choose x 1 salad between 2 x 1 starter between 2 and a main each. The mains were a choice of 5 including burger and chips and chicken and chips. Not very Greek. There is a serious issue with sun bed and umbrella situation. It is not surprising that people don’t really stay by the pool as there are not enough beds or umbrellas for the amount of guests in the hotel. My husband and I also had a room with a hot tub but after the first couple of days couldn’t use it as he got a rash from the amount of chlorine in the tub. The staff at the hotel are extremely friendly and the rooms are cleaned extremely well but the other issues I have mentioned would stop me returning."

"I stayed there for two weeks in June. Good value for money. I stayed in an apartment for three people on the second floor with a magnificent view of Skiathos town and the sea. The kitchen has everything you need for breakfast. The bathroom, while small, has a large shower, albeit with a curtain. You can wash without flooding the area outside the shower. There's always hot water, and no suds come out of the shower drain (a pleasant and rare thing in budget apartments in Greece!). Sheets are changed every day, towels every three days, and the rooms are cleaned daily. The overall cleanliness is excellent, and the outdoor area is well-maintained. The location is quiet, away from the chaos and noise of the city. I recommend having your own transportation (car, scooter, etc.) to reach these studios. Eleni and her son are always available and kind. Recommended! I was there for two weeks in June. Good value for money. "Perfect solution for a holiday in Skiathos. Very central (halfway between the old port and the new port near the buses and the center) with parking, new structure with small rooms but equipped with all comforts (for us Italians the only thing missing is the bidet but that is never found) upon arrival you find a bottle of water and sweet and savory snacks that are refilled every day, Nespresso machine and kettle, small very comfortable shower clothes horse, kind and smiling owners, nearby there is a nice park for children. If you choose breakfast it is done in a partner restaurant and is mostly a savory breakfast. Highly recommended excellent value for money, top cleaning."

"The room was rather small and kitchen facilities sparse. Hot water was not available for showers most evenings. The area is nice with several good restaurants in walking distance BUT the hotel is situated at the top of a very long steep hill. The beach and bus stop are also nearby but walking to them is not recommended if you have to carry any equipment back up the hill. We ended up having to hire a car for the few days we spent there. The Manager was very helpful but is only on site for a few hours each day"
