"Another amazing stay. Beautiful guest house which is spotlessly clean. Rooms are cleaned and topped up with essentials everyday. Nothing is too much trouble for the fabulous hosts - John and Hayley. Breakfast is cooked fresh every morning with a huge variety to suit everyone. Children are perfectly accommodated for. Absolutely no complaints here. Already re booked for next year."

Birkdale Guest House

"Myself and my dad have just stayed at the Birkdale for the IOW scooter weekend. The hosts of the Birkdale, Lesley and Colin, are absolutely fab! They go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. The twin room that we had was spotless and we loved the little extra touches such as the homemade biscuits and the fresh milk in the fridge. The breakfast here is incredible! So much to choose from (I was spoilt for choice every morning) and Sarah who works in the morning is a star. We loved our stay here that much that we re-booked for next years scooter weekend there and then! Thank you to everyone at the Birkdale for making our stay extra special! Lucy and Gordon Smith"

Rylstone Manor

"Mike and Carole are extremely welcoming, cheerful, and hard working hosts. Nothing is too much trouble. Spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds and ample storage space. Light and airy. We stayed in Fir which overlooks the rear gardens. We saw a red squirrel jumping and climbing in the trees, and green woodpeckers on the ground and on a tree, tapping for ants. A fox was having an afternoon siesta underneath the trees when we arrived and looked out of the bedroom window. So much woodland life to enjoy, and for my husband to photograph. The breakfasts, freshly cooked (ordered the night before) by Mike, and served by Carole, are delicious. I had fresh coffee, orange juice, fresh fruit salad followed by smoked salmon and scrambled egg, then kippers and scrambled egg one morning. My husband chose a full English breakfast with fried eggs. The toast was not made from the normal ready sliced tasteless bread, but from a flavoursome loaf. Plenty of choice and options available. The breakfasts really set us up for the day ahead. They recommended a taxi company to us to enable us to visit Carisbrooke Castle without it taking 1.5 hours on 2 buses, plus we booked taxis to get to and from Shanklin station. Mike and Carole suggested places to visit e.g. Godshill Model Village, and a good tearoom in Godshill, plus Shanklin Chine, which Rylstone Manor backs onto. We plan to stay again. It was like a home from home, with the large sitting room at our disposal too. A truly relaxing and enjoyable 3 nights, thanks to Mike and Carole. Just please improve the dribbly showers if possible."

"Spotlessly clean, a lovely large airy room serviced every day, great shower, delicious breakfasts, parking, wifi, friendly hosts, all for a very reasonable price - what more could you ask for? Thank you Mike and Sally for a wonderful stay!"

Villa Mentone Hotel

"First of all i would like to add that the manager made us all welcome and was very friendly, but the room this we stayed in let the whole place down. We paid £220 a night for apparently the penthouse suite , it was no penthouse but an attic room with 3 bedrooms in it, needing a lot of doing up. The only wardrobe was in the main bedroom no storage to hang up clothes in the other bedrooms. The bathroom and shower was a disgrace with the shower door having to close a certain way see photos. If you have a disability you’re stuffed!! no lift so you have to climb 59 steps to reach your room! We called it the stairs of death very steep. The doors was very drafty and we had to put a piece of cardboard in one to stop it rattling during the night. Double glazing has gone in one window. Very disappointed with room. Car park small see photos. Safe to say we won’t be returning."

"What a lovely cosy place! Cooked and continental breakfast were delicious. Nigel and Sharon were very welcoming and making sure that everything was fine. The beds were comfy, hot beverages were provided in the room like hot chocolate, coffee and tea. Little things that we appreciated a lot, was the details of the decor, the room service, the continental breakfast like the overnight oats, the games in the room, tourist information flyers and many more things."
