"While the sunset tour was amazing, informed, and easy and comfortable to do, our hotel experience was underwhelming. After paying an eye-watering amount for a waterhole view, versus a car park view, it was wasted. Check in is 3 p.m., leaving us less than 10 minutes to be back in the foyer for the sunset tour. After returning and dining, it was dark but we needed to draw the black out curtains to block the bright spotlights at the front of the hotel, which stayed on all night. No chance of seeing sunrise ! But we headed to the breakfast at 7 a.m. and watched the giraffes from there before checkout. The room while clean, was underwhelming for this price category. No information is in written form. We were unable to access a menu on the TV which explained how to work the air conditioner, experiences and dining options. Our friends had the same problem, and even gave up trying to turn on “watch”. No spare pillows or blankets. No spare hooks or toilet brush in the bathroom. A noisy, but empty mini fridge kept us awake. No printed material about the animals we might see, or the times and tours available at the adjacent zoo. Not even a pen or postcard ! The two reception staff members were not quite up to the job, and clearly not equipped to welcome and deal with a crowded 3 p.m. foyer. Would we return ? Perhaps in several year’s time but not at a weekend, not in winter (dark), and not in school holidays. We would probably save several hundreds of dollars and choose the “Savannah” view, and just make use of the public front deck views."

Note, if booking with Trip & have your fur baby, make sure you message the motel separately as the special requests info doesn’t get transferred & they need to give you a pet friendly room. We were lucky there was no issue & they had a pet friendly when checking in, could have been another story if they hadn’t had the room."
