The Esplanade Hotel

My stepmother, cousin and I have just come back from an absolutely fantastic stay at this hotel. Situated on the South Cliff overlooking the bay there was always plenty of places to sit (including the terrace) with very lovely, friendly staff around - especially Victoria and Joe who (although busy) always had a smile. We had 3 single and very comfortable rooms on the 4th floor with plenty of storage and an upgraded bathroom. The breakfast and evening meals were very good and more than enough with plenty of choice. Service excellent. Bingo and evening entertainment were good fun!! Thank you Daish’s. We’ll be back!!!!

This was our third stay at the Esplanade since October last year and with each stay the experience just gets better. Hats off to Joe, his team and their 'no problems ony solutions' attitude. Someone has taught them all how to smile and it is infectuous. When staff are being as pleasant as that to you then you can't help but be pleasant and smile back. Even the most ardent of complainers must have had difficulty in finding fault with the service provided by this team. From Debbie the barmade/waitress to Dale the handyman, everyone of them had the time to talk to you and made you feel welcome, at home and valued. It is noticable that the reception area has had a face lift and is now bright and welcoming on arrival, a lovely touch. Yes our room wass a little dated funiture and decor wise but it is clean, tidy and has fantastic views of the harbour and sea, who could ask for more? The standard of the food here in our opinion is the best on offer throughout the Daish's hotels group that we have visited. Plenty of selection, always hot and any requests catered for. The evening entertainment is never going to appeal to everyone every night but on the whole it was good and kept us in the bar. The only complaint I have about the whole holiday is the 1% of habitual moaners who for some reason seem to try and recruit alies to their cause complaining about everything from flies in the terrace garden (which if I'm right Daish's don't employ) to toast not being brown enough. Get rid of them (if only you could) and the holiday would be perfect. Please pass on our thanks to Joe and the whole of his team and let him know how grateful we are for the hard work they all put in to make our stay such a wonerful experience once again.

loved this hotel it needs updating but its clean and comfortable staff are lovely like all Daish staff the view from the hotel is wonderful bit of an hill to go to town but don't be put off when steps are mentioned you can walk round them only thing i feel spoils the entertainment is the music is far loader than the artists voice i find this in all Daish hotels would be nice to hear more voice less music from the speakers

Travelled with Jones International coach from Llandeilo, S Wales. Arrived at 4pm, lovely welcome from Joe. Had a twin room, nice freshly painted, new wall paper. Carpet needs upgrading, as much of the hotel does. Recently taken over (I would say) with continuing decoration and upgrading being done. Food was lovely, no complaints at all, lots of choice, menu for next meal supplied in advance. Bit noisy with the main road below, but that can't be helped by the hotel. Staff were lovely, nothing was to much trouble. Lovely location for the town/ beach/ castle and harbor. 3 star is a fair evaluation, but would certainly go again. Lovely break thank you all.

Very nice hotel. Our room was huge with a lovely sea view. The hotel needs some urgent TLC but the manager did say 25 rooms were getting an upgrade. Entertainment was dire to be honest, but its free so can't say too much about it really. Food was adequate and the service was good

Very happy with hotel all staff very helpful the restaurant staff came to our table and wished us a happy 50th wedding anniversary many thanks hotel has a lovely position over looking scarborough nice town and can get to many nice places on the buses like whitby filey bridlington

Just returned from a short break at the Esplanade Hotel in Scarborough. It's our second stay at this hotel, its very well run and welcoming by all the staff. Nothing is too much trouble, it's a very good location with breath taking views of the bay. Good food with good choices, the room was very clean and housekeeping was very good. The entertainment was very good one of the entertainers stood out, Jak Cooper who was brilliant . Overall it was a very good experience, we will be returning.

We had amazing time at the hotel from start to finish we were made very welcome all staff were extremely helpful Joe manager couldn’t do it and was always saying about the place helping when needed our room was excellent and the food was lovely housekeeping kept us stocked up with everything we needed we cannot fault this holiday or this hotel at all.

The Esplanade Hotel is in a lovely Location overlooking the bay a short walk into town and for bus and train services .we had a few problems during our stay but Joe the manager was amazing very helpful. The the food was ok ,rooms were clean but very dated .very good value for money
