Iconic Santorini, a Boutique Cave Hotel by Sandglass

This was a dream come true. From the moment we arrived, the staff was over the top accommodating. The amenities were amazing, and the views were breathtaking! The included breakfast was so delicious, and they had so many options! The pool was incredible. Everywhere you looked was an incredible view. I can't think of a single thing to improve upon. Just be prepared for lots of stairs!

We have just returned from spending 4 nights of our honeymoon at the Iconic Santorini and it was a great way to end the trip. The hotel delivers everything including stunning views of the Caldera, clean, spacious and well appointed bedrooms and excellent staff. The hotel was immaculate. It’s located in Imerovigli which is well placed to get to other parts of the island. A car would be ideal though. It’s about a 30-45 minute walk down into Thera which is a bustling town. There is ample car parking near to the hotel, some paid and some free, all are a short walk from the hotel but you can unload your car/ATV/taxi etc. at the top of the hotel and staff will help you get it to your room etc. as there’s a fair few steps down from street level to the hotel. The hotel can provide details if needed, and this was super helpful for us. Food wise - The hotel has a restaurant that caters for every need. I have an allergy and my wife is a vegetarian and this was no problem for the chef. The restaurant has amazing views and a very quiet atmosphere. We ate there twice at dinner and it was either just us or us and one other couple. If you fancy something different you can walk to plenty of nearby restaurants in Imerovigli or even go a little further to Thera. Breakfast was amazing, again catered to our exact needs - allergies and all. It was served to our room. All rooms have some form of outdoor space, either a private balcony or like ours, a shared terrace with your own private sun beds and little outdoor dining table. You fill in a breakfast choices form and can change your choice each evening for the following day, and it tastes great. Some rooms have their own mini pool, but there is also a main pool which is small but more than big enough to swim or sit in and sip cocktails depending on the mood. There’s a few sun beds to share by the pool too. Towels provided fresh each morning to your sun beds but you can change them as needed. Bedroom. We had the least fancy but it was more than enough! Huggeee bed big enough for 8 people, sofa, safe, bathroom with all that’s needed. As above we had the semi private terrace. Bottled water replaced twice daily. Turn down service every evening. Immaculately clean. Staff. Super friendly and helpful. Started with emails to Marialena to set up a special dinner with bubbles and some flowers and we continued to be impressed once we arrived. They’re all helpful and friendly and bent over backwards to give us the best stay. Definitely suggest getting their recommendations on things to do and places to go and eat. They helped us set up a Catamaran cruise and gave some good restaurant suggestions. On the last day spent it by the pool and got a late checkout. The hotel then looked after bags until it was time to leave and then they carried the bags to the top for us to collect with the car. Thank you to the staff and definitely recommend!

Truly one of the most unique and beautiful hotels in the world. Every aspect of the hotel is truly a 5-Star plus experience. The service was impeccable and the daily breakfast is one of the most unique experiences we have every had in the world. It needs to be experience by all.

Everything was wonderful. We had a room with hоt tube. The breakfast at this hotel is served on the terrace of the room so you can feel intimate and isolated from the whole world, being in solitude and looking at the beautiful panoramic view from the big terrace of the room. We really had a rest and will definitely come back here.

Absolutely the best! Georgia and Chris were phenomenal hosts. The hotel is exceptionally clean. They clean your room in the morning and check it again in the evening. They bring fresh water and ice twice a day. Every single employee is extremely pleasant and accommodating.. I will definitely be going back! Their restaurant was fabulous as well.

Our stay at The Iconic was wonderful. The staff couldn't do enough to help you. We were collected from the airport and our bags were transported seamlessly up and down the stairs. We stayed in a Caldera suite and breakfast was brought to us every morning to enjoy outside with the wonderful views. I would recommend staying in Imerovigli it is less hectic than Oia and Fira. There is an element of other guests passing you as you relax but these are only the hotel guests with a room next to you not general tourists walking by which we noticed with other hotels. The cave rooms are fun to stay in and spotlessly clean. There is not a great deal of storage space however, a very small wardrobe area with a small 3 draw unit so pack lightly! If the hotel perhaps had bed side cabinets with draws that could be helpful but in no way did it spoil our stay and we would definitely recommend. It is in a great location for the coast path walk to Oia/Fira and Skaros Rock if you are feeling active! Hotel food was good and lots of restaurants and a supermarket close by.

If you're in the market for a Santorini hotel that's in this price range, look no further. Just book it! We loved our four night stay. Everything from the daily breakfast menu, delivered to the balcony, to the professional and outgoing front desk staff was top-notch 5 stars. I've never stayed in a place this beautiful, with the postcard perfect backdrop. We only left the hotel one day because we were too obsessed with each of its features. In my research, I had read a review that highlighted how the balconies aren't "private". This is true, but during our stay all the guests were quiet and no one bothered their neighbor to make it a big deal or drawback at all. We stayed in the loft suite which was a fun layout but not a good fit for anyone with mobility issues. Can't wait to stay here again! Did I mention how incredible the staff is? Including lugging our luggage up and down the uneven stairs for us?

One of the best hotels I've been to, I don't think I have ever been blown away by a room until this trip. Our room had a private cave hot tub that is genuinely the best amenity I've ever experienced. The views from everywhere in the hotel are absolutely stunning and the hotel is kept pristine. The service was fantastic from start to finish, from arranging cars to restaurant recommendations they provided everything we needed. Their breakfast service is fantastic, you are given a great selection to choose from and it is brought straight to your room to enjoy with a view at any time you'd like. Imerovigli is the best area of Santorini and Iconic is a standout among all the hotels.

Amazing views and top rated service, I could not asked for any better hotel to stay in Santorini. I adored the views from our deck, sit there every chance I could, watched sunrise and sunset almost daily during our 6 nights. The room is a bit small but it is Santorini’s most popular location. I husband said he felt like we lived in a cave and that’s the idea to experience Santorini.
