Only stayed one night, but overall great stay! Front desk check in was smooth and simple and customer service was great!

I will post this review at multiple websites to warn potential guests about the risk of break-ins to your parked vehicle in the hotel's parking lot. We stayed at this hotel for one night (9/9/24--9/10/24). Some time at that night some thieves broke a window of my brand-new car and stole several boxes (we were moving from the Midwest area to San Diego). The total financial loss was about $5,000, not to mention the stress and wasted efforts. This hotel charges $15 for parking but does not pay enough attention to safety or security. I even have reasons to suspect that the theft might have been an insider job. The general conditions of the hotel are OK, and the staff we had interaction with are courteous, but that's not enough to offset such a poor experience. I'd suggest travelers in similar situations to be very careful, or just stay away from a hotel like this.

Nice clean hotel. Nice friendly staff. The worst bed ever. I think the floor would have been more comfortable. Like sleeping on a piece of plywood. I got zero sleep and got up sore. I will not stay here again and would second guess a stay at another Marriott property.

Almost always a big fan of Marriott properties … but not the Courtyard San Diego Rancho Bernardo. As a Marriott Lifetime Titanium Elite member, I’ve experienced a wide variety of Marriotts. We stayed at this Courtyard seven years ago for a wedding party rendezvous among family and friends. Pleasant location. However, the quality of this property has precipitously declined. To start … ants in the room. Not that big of a deal, but would expect that from a Motel X in South Dakota. Only one of the two elevators was working the first couple days. Again, a minor inconvenience but had long waits while housekeeping carts and guests with luggage crammed inside. Tried to access the hot tub after 7 am when the sign stated open at 6 am … gate locked. Minor issue … accessed the hot tub shortly thereafter, but there was food garbage and litter around the tub that hadn’t been picked up from the prior day. Rather gross to see in the early morning. We changed rooms (after checking out and back in) to get a better experience, but both of the elevators were now broken and we had to carry all of our luggage up three flights of stairs. That was not a fun experience using a cane and an ankle brace. BTW, there are no USB plugs in the rooms so bring your AC charging cords. Cumulative experience: not a good place to stay. Very nice, friendly support staff, but this Courtyard is severely lacking good management. We will not return.

We had to go down stairs several times to retrieve towels, paper goods blankets, and pillows. Front desk reception was non responsive. Rooms were date. Bathrooms rusted throughout the tub and not clean. Stay elsewhere. I would not recommend this hotel.

The minute I walked into my room, I was brought bck 40 years when I travelled for business and the room smelled like a Holiday inn of the 80s. Ventilation was poor in the bathroom as well. My friend and I looked all over, but there was only one plug by the bed, but both of us had a phone to charge overnight! There were NO USB outlets in the room at all! I had not brought enough charging blocks, neither had she! We had to borrow a power ***** from our friends, but I was unable to charge my watch at the same time as my phone. Very inconvenient! The second day, we were surprised to not have new towels, or the garbage cleared. I went down to the front desk and they said, "Oh! You were suposed to be told we only clean the room every other day!" There were not enough towel racks to dry our towels so this was annoying. We were also given a room next to the elevator, so we heard the engines running night and day! We spent most of our time out and about, but I expected more as a Gold rewards member! Courtyards don't have any perks, but we paid $16 for a coffee and egg sandwich in the Cafe, where the staff and food were nice. Good location, close to our friends, but I will look for another hotel next time Ivisit Rancho Bernardo.

This hotel seems to cater more to business travelers, but we were there to visit family. We had reserved our room through our credit card travel portal. We prepaid for a room with a king size bed, and couch (sofa bed). We had also requested a room on the quieter, inside part of the hotel. Instead, they gave us a handicap room on the outside side of the hotel, closest to the freeway. We heard traffic all night! This was NOT the room we had paid for and we were extremely disappointed!

Road noise was absolutely awful. Hotel is very close to a highway. They have an on-site restaurant but there’s no restaurant service most of midday. Close to several small restaurants within walking distance. Tiny pool on site. A small park is just off the back of the hotel property.

The Courtyard by Marriott is a terrible hotel. It is one of the worst hotels where I have stayed and it is the worst Marriott where I have stayed. There are few amenities. For example they charge to park in their ample parking lot. The hotel is not in a crowded city but out in the suburbs. Their bistro has limited hours in which it is opened and has high prices for poorly prepared food. The bagel comes with very little cream cheese thinly spread on one half. I ordered avocado toast. It came with the toast but with absolutely NO AVOCADO. Very poorly run. Marriott should be ashamed.

I found myself in Rancho Bernardo doing business in the area and most of the properties elsewhere the rates were jacked up due to the weekend. Darn tourists, lol. It is an older property with no usb cable in the room so bring your own connections. pick a room if you can on the interior facing the pool or east side of hote because the other side your staring at a parking lot and the freeway noise is not relaxing. I like the staff very helpful and freindly I didn't meet one person not willing to go out of their way to meet your needs. One morning I arrived at the Bistro and no one was there to greet me. I waited for a few minutes and then the manager and the barista came from the back and asked me how long had I been waiting. I explained it was only a couple of minutes and the manager said let me buy your espresso for the trouble. It is little touches like this that imprint a caring non corporate feel to these stays.

Think twice before booking here. This hotel is beside the freeway and if you are lucky enough to get an odd numbered room that is what you will hear. Our room was 235, the outlets for the refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and bathroom did not work. After letting the front desk know as well as housekeeping we relocated the refrigerator into the bedroom area so it would keep our refreshments cold. We never heard anything from anyone as to the repair of the electricity. Thankfully we were not around much as we were in San Diego to spend time with family.
