Our stay with Discovery Resort was absolutely perfect! From the stunning views and luxurious rooms to the exciting activities every moment was unforgettable. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring we felt welcome throughout our stay. The food was delicious, with a variety of options to satisfy every craving. Whether relaxing by the infinity pool or enjoying live evening entertainment like firedancing, the resort had the perfect balance of fun and relaxation. I can’t wait to return—highly recommend it for the ultimate getaway.

Our overnight stay was an unforgettable experience. Worth the price. From the services offered from Davao City to the resort itself, the food, the pool and the beach were superb. I would definitely go back with my family

Had a wedding here and booked the villa and junior suite roomsstayed here for 2 nights. We love staying here although there are minor things that needs improvement, we still like this resort.

Amazing. Our stay has been hassle-free. Staff were very accommodating and polite. They have excellent service and amenities.

I would not recommend this hotel at all. The woman at the port was rude and dismissive, saying, “The boat is leaving” while I was simply having a conversation with someone. She even made a face as though I’d done something wrong. Now, let’s talk about the swimming pool. Typically, you’d expect the entrance to a pool to be either a ladder or a proper set of stairs. At Discovery Samal, they opted for stairs, but the first step isn’t a step at all—it’s a downward-slanted, submerged tile. The reflection of the sky and sun makes it blend in with the water, so when you step on it, expecting a stair, it’s incredibly slippery. I lost my balance completely and fell hard, injuring my shoulder and other parts of my body. To make matters worse, the only handrail is partially blocked by artificial grass and a warning sign—an ironic choice that defeats the purpose of having a safety feature there. When I reported the safety issue to the staff, they couldn’t have cared less. Their response? Blaming me for slipping on a nearly invisible hazard. Service by the pool was equally disappointing. I waited on a lounge chair for someone to take my order, but no staff were in sight. I had to go inside the restaurant to track someone down and practically beg for service. The building itself already feels run-down despite opening in 2023. At night, the lighting is inadequate. I nearly tripped on the stone stairs in the garden because the floor lights are spaced five meters apart, leaving the stairs poorly illuminated. The property is cluttered with unnecessary stairs and yellow-and-black hazard tape everywhere, giving the impression of a construction zone rather than a luxury hotel. Overall, this hotel is a nightmare. If you value your well-being, avoid Discovery Samal at all costs. The staff are unfriendly, unprofessional, and the construction is subpar. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

location is fantastic, the building and rooms very nice, the service need huge improvement, when restaurants are getting a bit busy long waiting, this is when they have higher occupancy they only serve buffet.,,,  the check-in took ages...  resort 5 star service is not in line with a 5 star location.

The restroom in the lobby wasn’t well maintained. It wasn’t a reflection of a 5-star hotel. Service was delayed for most of our stay. We requested for housekeeping, but it took the next morning before our room could be cleaned. The in-room service was delayed too. Most importantly, waiting for the boat trip took almost 1-2 hours of our time. So, much time was wasted. We checked out of the hotel before 11am for the 11am boat trip. But, we didn’t leave until almost 1pm. The complimentary trip to the airport was nice.

On my way back home the catamaran named MV Charlie encountered technical difficulties. We had to return back to the resort. For a premium resort, it should see to it that the transportation IS SAFE FOR TRAVEL. Diligence of a good father of a family must be observed at all times…

Our room had a great view and staff were all helpful. Just had a bad experience with our food orders at their bar. For an expensive place i would have expected better service and food quality.
