Hôtel Club Mmv le Monte Bianco

We stayed here having booked directly with the hotel for the Christmas period on a skiing trip. We had two rooms for two adults and two older teenagers. One was the "superior" room, one standard as there was only one of the former available at booking. The only difference was the superior room was a little larger and had both a double and a single bed, therefore not really worth the additional expense. I have often stayed in hotels with mixed reviews and I have never been quite as disappointed as I was here. Every negative experience that was documented in the prior reviews was exactly as described. The rooms generally were not clean, the sink was leaking so we had a constant pool of water on the shelf of the vanity unit. I was aware that cleaners came in daily as cups were removed but towels were not changed throughout our stay and the bed was only tidied up once. There was an awful smell of bad drains from one of the shower rooms. We had to keep the window in the shower room open throughout our stay. When noted to reception, they said it was probably due to the weather, which seems odd for an alpine hotel. In any case, nothing was done about it. The meal service on our all inclusive package was very disappointing. One of our party is vegetatian and this could not be catered for so it was soup and salad from the buffet every evening which was actually worse at the Christmas buffet service as the salad all contained fish. We asked about vegetarian options a number of times but were told no. The bar area is essentially a space in the main reception and a room off of the same area. It was way too small for the size of the hotel so sadly we were unable to get a table at all during our stay. We took drinks back to our room which unpleasant. The available drinks were ok but not a wide selection. The swimming pool was not open during our stay for reasons that could not be explained. Reception just said it was not open. This was especially disappointing given that some of the promo images on the website show the lovely outdoor pool surrounded by snowy hillsides. It was one of the reasons we chose this hotel as it's one of the things we always like to do on a family holiday so we were all really disappointed. Several areas of the hotel are really very run down. The dining room was ok but for a full buffet service it was tight on space. Other than the friendly man who was mostly behind the bar, the rest of the staff generally were just ok, polite enough but not particularly welcoming. To try and find a positive, the location is pleasant, views from the rooms are nice. Both of our rooms had balconies which is always a positive. The rooms and all areas of the hotel were well heated and warm. My best advice would be to hire a ski locker at the gondola base station which I was worth every penny to avoid bringing equipment up the hill back to the hotel every day. We came here with a coach party. It felt strange not going straight into a reception area, just a passage with lift at the end, after negotiating a set of steps requiring some repairs. The hotel came across as needing some redecoration in some areas and the safe was in such a high position in the wardrobe that only my very tall husband could reach it. However, apart from those negative comments we had a pleasant four night stay. There was a large choice on the buffet, both hot and cold, and it was difficult to choose what to have, especially the delicious desserts. We appreciated being able to sit and relax in the lounge in the evenings rather than in our room. Once we had worked out the strange arrangement of the two lifts we had no problems finding our way around. We found the staff pleasant and helpful There was a wonderful view of the mountains from the hotel although it was unfortunate that it was rainy with low cloud for most of the time we were there so we weren't able to enjoy it. However, we did manage to see Mont Blanc from the top floor for a short time before the clouds closed in again.

The hotel is located in a nice but remote area. It seems that the facilities have seen better days, now it feels old and out of date. The cleanliness is bad (sticky floors on the front desk, bad smelling bar, dirty carpets, etc.). The rooms are OK, but my TV remote was not working, the pool was closed, the internet was slow, and there were not many entertainment options after a long hike. The town around is nice so I would suggest you take your breakfast, lunch, dinner, and everything in town, as the food quality is not worth the calories.

It was not pleasant to stay at Sowell hotels mont blanc, staff not friendly or helpful. Trying to sleep at night was horrendous, staff would smoke throughout the night under our balcony causing our room to be stinking with with cigarette smoke, I would come down at two in the morning to ask them to stop to no avail. Closing the door would cause room to swelter in heat. Will not be coming back and will not recommend to anyone to stay here.

Very good hotel. Wonderful staff, and especially Blaga Georgieva at the reception welcomed us and explained all the details about our stay at the hotel and all the services they offer. The bar was very good. The poop is typical of the "all inclusive" type. With minor hiccups, the room was well maintained. We hope our next holiday will be with you. We will gladly recommend your hotel!

Fantastic service by Lilian and Gregoire in the reception ＜3 Food was great and you could take away from the buffet to your day trips. Beautiful view. Room was cosy, happily not too hot weather due to missing aircon. Going around with the elevators not very convenient, but we had our room with a walking distance by stairs. Pool was not crowded. Easy location to explore the surroundings with your car. Parking lot outside, no extra cost.
