First, I would like to clear up a misunderstanding: I completed my professional career in the hotel industry in first-class and luxury hotels in Switzerland. But that does not mean that my B&B is one of them. I just want to convey to my guests that I have high standards of service, offer and quality. I do not use the term "luxurious" anywhere. When I was offered the large detached house for rent, I thought about whether it would be possible to run a B&B in a house that did not have rooms with private bathrooms. I finally found the solution with the laundry rack in the room that you described. One consequence of the lack of en-suite bathrooms is that my beautiful guesthouse is increasingly being booked for exclusive use by families, friends or companies. I find it commendable that you did not want to use all the towelling for ecological reasons. However, for hygienic reasons, all bed linen and towels must be removed from the room after the guests have left and replaced with fresh ones - whether used or not. On all booking portals there are standardised offers so that the guest can compare accommodation and prices. This has the disadvantage that individual descriptions are hardly read and receive little attention. Guests who book via my own homepage / booking engine are better informed about the offers and facilities. By the way, you will also find the lower prices there. There are two different room categories in the house: Double room with 2 beds (90x200 cm) and double room with 1 bed (140x200 cm). The double rooms with 1 bed are very small, cosy and ideal for single use. For 2 people, I always recommend the double rooms with 2 beds. Dear Spudthecat2018, I understand your frustration, I would also prefer to offer rooms with private bathrooms. The house was built in 1928 as a family home and served the owners for decades as a residential and office building. Only 5 years ago, the owner completely renovated the house and adapted it to today's needs; not as a hotel, but as a purely residential house. I think I made the best of the situation with the existing concept. I am aware that most of the potential guests prefer accommodation with their own bathroom and therefore do not book with me. It is my aim to compensate the lack of private baths with personal attention, perfect cleanliness allover the premises and a cosy atmosphere. This is exactly what I always tell my guests: stay a little longer to enjoy all the amenities of my house. It's actually much too bad to be here for only 1 night. You describe this wonderfully in the comment. You missed the dinner: this is available for groups of 8 people or more or by appointment. With such a small house with a maximum of 12 guests, it is extremely difficult to prepare anything: In the restaurants, which are within walking distance from my Bed&Breakfast, all guests can choose exactly the food that they like and that fits their dietary philosophy. Ayant fait carrière dans l'hôtellerie de luxe et de première classe, je connais bien sûr les besoins des hôtes exigeants. Je suis personnellement très attentif à ce que mes hôtes ne manquent de rien. Mes services doivent être perçus comme allant de soi, mais j'apprécie néanmoins que mes hôtes le remarquent et l'acceptent avec reconnaissance. Et tu l'as bien sûr mentionné correctement : pour les petits groupes ou les familles jusqu'à 12 personnes maximum, la maison est parfaitement adaptée pour profiter d'une merveilleuse convivialité. Le buffet du petit-déjeuner fait partie du service standard, je me réjouis aussi de pouvoir préparer un dîner pour le groupe. Je me réjouis d'ores et déjà des prochaines retrouvailles.
