Alles Tip Top.

This is a lovely hotel on an absolutely stunning island. We are still here, but I thought I’d write our review early. The island is breathtaking with lots to do and several of restaurants. There is water sports and always sun beds or beautiful areas to sit. If you come out of the hotel at either side, you’re faced with a stunning view. The rooms are absolutely fine. In fact they are really nice! I had read reviews saying they were small and outdated. I was worried about this as there are 3 of us, but we are more than comfortable, plus we have slept amazingly every single night so far. The team who service the rooms are excellent, they leave the place spotless. Also I had read there was only one plug outlet, but we have several! Our bathroom seems so have been upgraded too as it’s lovely. I think over the years the hotel has read feedback and actually worked hard to solve any issues. Also if you have any problems with air con, just say at reception and they fix it very quickly. The food is great. Plenty of choice and loads of it. Everything I’ve eaten has been delicious, so the cooking staff deserve real credit too. There is also unlimited, beer, wine, juice, water and cola (a local brand, but it’s really nice). This is a huge bonus. We are in high season, but never have to wait long to get drinks. My only negative about the restaurant is certain tourists. A lot act like it’s their last meal before the apocalypse. Some actually try to take the tongs out of your hand while you’re still using them. Also they power walk and cut in front of you when you have hot drinks in your hand. My tip is actually to come down for food after 7:30. These tourists are very punctual and most are down early (probably to make the most of the wine and beer). Honestly the waiting staff have the patience of saints. One tourist wanted something to pick at his teeth, so just walked into the staff only room to hoke about for something. It’s just a rudeness that stuns me, but you always get it. The ferry is brilliant and punctual. There is a queue rope at the hotel end, however in Rovinj it is hilarious, watching against certain tourists just walk right to the front and push on. There will be a queue right at the walkway and they just walk round it. They also try to get on before passengers are off. Every single time, the crew, have to stop them. Again I am impressed by their patience. Overall, the hotel and the island is lovely. Rovinj is also absolutely stunning, so as long as you can laugh at the abruptness of certain tourists, then this is an amazing place to stay.

The hotel is a super short boat ride from Rovinj port - the boats usually ran pretty timely and are included for hotel guests. The town of Rovinj is very cute Italian-vibes old town with plenty to see as you wander around. The pools were clean and well maintained. On the island is a water sports activity centre separate to the hotel, which we kayaked the surrounding uninhabited islands with, twice during our four night stay. My boyfriend loved the breakfasts each morning with lots of choice and was fresh and well made. Likewise for the evening meals in the buffet restaurant, although we preferred to go to the other restaurants on the island (not included in the half-board, but that's fine) I had never been to Croatia before, but my boyfriend and I would definitely go back

The hotel commands a stunning position on St Andrews island, which is a short boat ride from Rovinj old town. The views are just beautiful. The public areas of the hotel are modern and spotlessly clean. Rooms are cleaned everyday and clean towels provided, if so desired. Rooms are adequate, bright and airy. However, the bathroom could do with updating albeit exceptionally clean. The breakfast choice was good but a little crowded at times. We had lunch in the Italian, the food was rather bland with not much flavour and not hot enough. The snack bar by the main pool served pizza’s/salads/burgers which were very good. There is ample room around the pool and there are sun beds on the pebbly/rocky beach. (You need sea shoes, as its very uncomfortable getting in and out of the sea). The pool area is spotless and the big pool was lovely to swim in. The majority of staff were friendly and helpful however there were a couple who were rather officious. What we loved the most was getting dressed up and getting on the boat to go over to the old town every night for dinner. The boat goes on the hour and on the half hour coming back. It is free for hotel guests. There is an abundance of restaurants to choose from in Rovinj - you are spoilt for choice some more expensive than others. I would definitely stay at this hotel again, purely for its location and beautiful views.

Just spent 1 week in this hotel. On arrival we were allocated our room, only for me to go to reception and ask for a change. Live wires on show from a broken socket.light not working in the bathroom and edging coming away from table. They quickly sorted out a new room for is.. Staff were brilliant.Very obliging. Hotel and grounds were spotless. Beautiful views over the sea. Now food. To be honest, not the best. Weird combinations.More or less the same every evening

I am overwhelmed. This was our first time staying at this hotel and in Rovinj in general. We received a complimentary upgrade to a suite, and I can't even begin to describe how surprised we were by this gesture. So, from now on, only the Maistra hotel chain for our summer vacations. Everything else was just perfect: the beach, the food, the pool, the spa, the walking paths...peace, quiet...absolutely beautiful. I definitely recommend it. The staff is extremely friendly, and I would especially like to praise Tomislav at the reception

Third year for my holidays in this superior hotel kissed everywhere by the blue sea. I found very nice as usual breakfast , dinner, nice pool, good beach services and bar services..this yeas incredible filthy and unpolished room cleaning. I suggest to bring something from your home to clear by yourself your room if you want to spend here your holidays

We stayed here at the start of July and had an enjoyable stay. The good points were that the pool area was really quiet so there wasn’t the usual stupid o’clock reservation of sun loungers. On our initial day, we found the food very average and didn’t realise half board would be buffet-style with no drinks service. However, for the remainder of the holiday, we found the food was pretty decent with quite a bit of variety. The drinks were OK too. The pool area and rooms were very well maintained. Three good sized outdoor pools and maybe because it wasn’t high season, we didn’t get the usual entertainment team badgering people to do activities. There was daily aqua aerobics and we enjoyed that a few times. The bad points were the cost of drinks at the hotel. Being on an island, the hotel has a captive audience so feel they can charge ridiculous prices, even for soft drinks. We ended up taking the ferry to have drinks on the mainland as it was slightly cheaper. I’ve never known a hotel where you only get free pool towels on the first day; 4 euros each towel thereafter. Food was pretty limited at lunchtime unless you went to the mainland. There was only the Italian restaurant near the beach with poor service. We were ignored for a while (we didn’t realise that you don’t wait to be seated like a normal restaurant). There seemed to be one main waitress who was running around doing everything whereas the other 2 moody waitresses completely ignored us. There was another bloke who I’d struggle to call a waiter. He didn’t have a clue what he was doing or where he was, having to ask the main waitress every 2 minutes on what he should do next. It was only when the Big Boss came across that the service improved and people were able to pay. We could see some people having to tell the staff what they had to eat in order to pay for their food. Rovinj itself was really nice and we visited Pula and Porec on a day trip and they were lovely too. We would visit Rovinj again but probably not stay at this hotel.

We returned after staying last year. Possibly the wow factor wasn't the same as we had been before and the negatives outweighed the positive's which is the location. I commented last time that the bar and snack tariffs were pretty heavy compared with Rovinj town. On an evening probably less than 30 guests used the main bar and outside terrace (due to price ?) There is wine and beer available at Dinner self service foc with signs not too decant it to take away and that wouldn't happen if the bars were more reasonable. I saw another review complaining about a small glass of Sauvignon blanc eu11 odd and eu56 a bottle. We paid that 2x until I checked the bill. I just cant see how that is justified you wouldn't pay that in a London Hotel. A tonic water in excess of eu5. Everything on the island is the same price and snacks are unavailable. The only thing that seemed reasonable were ice creams possibly due to tour companies pressure from clients with kids ? TBH to get a ferry to avoid the trap becomes a chore after a bit. I don't think I would visit again as being a captive audience grinds a bit. If you could just walk out of hotel to a bar it would be very much different and the high tariff's you could avoid. There were lots of choices of main dishes at dinner but very few were of a quality above a Harvester chain.

Ants nest in room and ants in drink at harbourside hotel bar, uncontrollable air conditioning, mould in mint green bathroom, thats why you don't see pictures on websites, 4 euros to change towel at pool?, not a platinum hotel and I have travelled to a lot of hotels around the world business and pleasure. Don't be fooled, this hotel needs to improve. Location excellent, it could be do much better with some improvements.

Arrived 18/6/2024 until the 29/6/2024.This was our 6th visit to the Istra.I shall start with the positives :- Great location served by a good ferry service too & thro to the Rovinj old town although at times very confusing pick up & drop off's in the old town, especially for first-time visitors. Inside the hotel reception area & bar lounge very clean.Check in very quick. When you arrive by ferry don't stand & wait for your cases because they are brought up to the front entrance by electric buggy. There are 4 outside pools & one inside which are cleaned every day.The pool area's dont open until 9am but you can sit around the marina area before 9am. Plenty of sunbeds for everyone. There are 5 bars Four outside & the inside lounge bar. The restaurant looks modern & clean but ! Which i shall mention later. The Negatives :- The ferry drops off at the swimming pool in the old town but you cant get on.It goes over into town, drops off & picks up then goes back over to the swimming pool & picks up.Why ??? Our room. Wardrobes are not fit for purpose hanging rail is very high and only a short drop meaning that dresses are scrunched up at the bottom. no USB sockets,70's hair dryer in the bathroom, shower door will leak water. Will have to put kettle on the floor to connect to wall plug. although we have been guests at this hotel now 6 times, and at other Maistra hotels in Rovinj 3 times, we are not shown any loyalty, our room 161 had possibly the worst outlook onto a yard area full of cardboard boxes, there was black mould on the shower runners which I had to report to reception, and a rusty tap. It was a birthday which was notified when booked, but not acknowledged by the hotel. We use another hotel chain Riu, and after only 3 visits there we were upgraded on our room to thank us for our loyalty, and there is a gift left in our room. Restaurant :- If you want to dine Al Fresco you have to check in at the entrance at 6-30pm.There will be a big queue leading down to the entrance, guest wanting to dine outside dash through to the outside tables. This is what some guest did.One of you from your room must sign in then your other partner waits outside where there is a moveable barrier to the Al Fresco area, they enter the Al Fresco and sit at the table around 6-20pm while the majority of guest are quietly queing up waiting for the doors to open at 6-30pm. this was brought to the attention of staff but no action taken. many guests will have their meal and then sit at the table until it closes at 9.30. restaurant Food:- It's ok,quite a few dishes are neutral in taste. They are trying to cater for so many different nationalities a good example are the Pizza's.they look inviting but are quite bland. In the restaurant you will basically queue for everything, the service areas are very congested and there is a lot of pushing and shoving. There is free beer & wine on an evening with your meal. Drink prices in the hotel are 5 euro's 30c for a large beer .7 euro's for a s
