I liked the area, it's quite and peaceful. The rooms are clean but very basic which is not a problem but for the price it is expensive. Some of the staff seemed very confrontational to not say rude. It's a good area not far from Trastevere, Colosseum, Circo Massimo, Baths of Caracalla. Good points: peaceful, quiet neighbourhood. Some nice staff, especially the older lady at the reception. Bad points: bedding is old and tatty. One of the staff at the reception he seems to be quiet rude to people and he didn't care to argue in front of me with another guest. I would stay again if I had no choice but I think next time I will be going somewhere else.

Hotel is outside the tourist area. You need to use metro to moving several times. The station is next problem, cause this one is dangerous area. Hotel is old and don’t have air conditioning system. In the room was the worst smell, breathe was impossible, we asked them to change room or help somehow but they refused.

We absolutely loved the location - quiet, green, beautiful area yet very close to metro, cafes, restaurants, Testaccio market etc. Kind and flexible staff. Clean rooms, and good breakfast. If you are a sensitive sleeper, ask for a room with separate beds (the double beds have 1 solid matrass). I definitely recommend Major Aventinus!

Absolutely a dream stay....wonderful family-run hotel, a short walk from the circus maximus, and 20 min walk to the coliseum, and forum. Peacefully situated up on the Aventine hill, with lovely gardens around it. The perfect spot to escape to after a busy sightseeing day. Delicious pastries and espresso in the morning, and rooms were comfortable and quiet. For the best, peaceful stay within the city of Rome but not overrun with tourists, this is what your soul needs!

We received a warm welcome after midnight, which was greatly appreciated. The room, while simple, was impeccably clean. The Italian breakfast they provided was a delightful mix of pastries, fruits, coffee, and cheeses, served with genuine grace. The hotel is situated in a serene and charming residential neighborhood, offering a tranquil atmosphere.

We were four of traveling in Switzerland and Italy. By the time we came to this hotel we had stayed in 7 hotels in both countries. The room we stayed was very small suitable only to one person. The bathroom was so small the when I sit on the commode my leg strikes the washbasin pedestal. There is no AC in this room and no drinking water or coffee/ tea maker provided. Breakfast was the same for all 4 days which was passable at best. The worst came when we had to checkout. My wife first requested the receptionist a young man in his 30-40 whether we could leave the luggage in the hotel after checkout since our flight was in the night. He flatly refused and said that if we want we can take the luggage to the Termini station and leave it there for few Euro in a very arrogant unfriendly way . This never happened to us in much smaller hotels in our trip of 3 weeks in both countries. Then when we were leaving there was a misunderstanding about the city tax payment. When my wife was trying to explain the issue to the lady at the reception this man who claimed that he is the owner intervened very rudely and became very arrogant and abusive. He went up to our room took the two pieces of luggage and threw them down the staircase ( this hotel does not have an elevator). He then took our luggage out of the gate and asked us to leave even without paying the city tax breakfast. He refused to take the money from us and became racial and called us Indians and said this is not India but Europe. Only advise please don't ever book this hotel.

We planned to stay at the Major Aventius Hotel for about a week. Unfortunately, we both got sick and called in, in due time, to cancel our reservation. We were told, that this was not a problem and that we would get our money back - no problem. Then, one day into the planned stay, I got an email saying that our payment just went through. We were shocked. I called them and asked them what was going on. They just told me that they didn't receive any cancelation, and then insinuated that I was probably trying to scam them somehow. Dear internet. I can, for the love of god, not recommend this hotel to anyone.

I am solo traveler arrived at this hotel my Room was basic clean, the shower was inconsistent which was a bit annoying. The walls are paper thin so you could here other guests conversations in the there rooms. There was smell coming from drain pipe which was not good. The area is very quiet and safe. located 15min walk to the Collossum and rome centre and buses and metro close by. The staff were friendly and nice, But the hotel is 2 star in my opinion needs a bit of updating. furniture, dining area I didnt have breakfast in the hotel If you want clean basic room, in a quiet area at a good price in Rome and your not spending much time in the hotel only to sleep this is the place for you 👍

Located in a beautiful neighborhood, close to the center of Rome. Family run hotel, and you certainly feel the personal touch. 24 hours a day you have somebody that can help you with a lot of willingness and good advice. Comfortable, clean. Highly recommended!

The hotel was sits in a lovely neighborhood of old beautiful houses, on top of a hill with a beautiful view over Rome. The hotel is basic but all the facilities are there. All in all, a good option in Rome given the price and if you are not looking for luxury

Had a wonderful 3-week stay at this family-run hotel. The rooms are spacious and spotless, and a great italian breakfast with fresh pastries is served every morning. The hotel is located in a central, strategic, safe and quiet part of Rome that is close to many restaurants, attractions and neighbourhoods that are easily accessible by foot. The family who runs the hotel and the staff who work there are very welcoming and friendly. I will definitely be staying here again and highly recommend it to anyone vising Rome!

L’hotel è in ottima posizione, a circa 10 minuti dalla fermata della metropolitana Circo Massimo. Camera ben ordinata e molto pulita, bagno nuovo e molto pulito, letto comodo, buona colazione. Personale molto gentile e disponibile. Sono rimasto soddisfatto.

L'hotel si trova in un quartiere molto tranquillo. Noi siamo stati in questo hotel per partecipare ad un concerto al Circo Massimo, ed è veramente comodissimo, circa 10 minuti a piedi. Vicino al Colosseo, Foro, Altare della patria .... quindi a parte i concerti è coLmodissimo anche per visitare la città. Il personale molto cortese e disponibile, la colazione ottima con scelta tra dolce e salato. La stanza ampia, il letto comodo e ottima pulizia. Le note negative: Il bagno è piccolissimo, senza bidet e con un minuscolo lavabo. Diciamo che in queste dimore antiche, bisogna trovare dei compromessi. Il prezzo delle camera molto alto, ma purtroppo si sà, Roma è Roma e se si vuole soggiornare vicino al centro nel weekend e con concerti importanti ....... questo è lo scotto da pagare.
