Hotel Sisto V

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and attentive, always ready to help me with anything I needed. The place was quiet and clean, perfect for relaxing after a busy day. The breakfast was delicious and varied, with different options to suit every taste. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great accommodation.

Small hotel but very cosy and clean. Rooms just enough for 1-2persons max but I had a balcony which was nice though there is no particular view to enjoy but gives a breathing space. Staff extremely helpful. I had a minor accident and they went out of their way to assist me even though it had nothing to do with the hotel. It's slightly out of centre. Well connected by train to city centre and taxi.

Terrible hotel in disrepair that turns the AC off at 2:30am so you wake up drenched in sweat! We asked the front desk numerous times and were told all different answers. Unless you are looking for a bug infested sauna, stay elsewhere!

First the good news. Sisto V is reasonably priced and in the decent part of town. It is extremely clean and the beds were comfortable. The shower is a little small but had plenty of hot water and water pressure. The breakfast was adequate and the hotel is close to the train station and bus stop. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Now the bad news. The room was very small. we were an adult and 2 teenage boys. Three twin beds were crammed into a very small space leaving little room for luggage or even a chair to sit on. When booking the hotel I was led to believe that it is centrally located and a short walk to many of the sites around Rome. That is not true. It is a bit out of the way. (probably my fault for not verifying its location before booking). Though it is close to the train station and an easy ride into the center of the city the trains were not always running when we wanted to get to or from the sites. As a result we were forced to take taxis which costs anywhere from 20 to 35 euros each way. Overall the experience was fine and I would probably stay there again knowing what I know now.

I used this hotel for a university trip I coordinated. It is important to know that it is not in the center of Rome—you will have a 30-minute train/metro trip to get to the main sites. However, it’s located in a lovely residential area, and both the hotel itself and the surrounding restaurants are much more reasonably priced than the city center. As long as you are comfortable navigating public transit, you can be quite happy here. Our group agreed that the rooms were clean and comfortable. The air conditioning works well by European standards. We also enjoyed the breakfast, especially the coffee. Although the hotel is near a hospital, the ambulance noise did not disturb us nearly as much as we thought it might. My only complaint is that the shower in my single room was tiny. I am not an especially large person, but I had to squeeze through the door and kept elbowing the walls while I washed my hair. The double and triple rooms we booked had larger bathrooms, so that is something to consider if space is a concern for you.
