"So far on my trip to Hainan, I've stayed in four different hotels, ranging from budget-friendly to luxury five-star. My stay at Atour has been the most satisfying. Atour just opened less than two months ago, so everything is brand new, yet there's no hint of a renovation smell. The room's amenities and facilities are incredibly convenient and user-friendly, and the service attitude is wonderfully comforting and satisfying. It really feels like Atour's management genuinely understands customer needs and strives to provide service that meets, or even exceeds, expectations. If I had to suggest an improvement, I'd recommend upgrading the toilet seats from the current semi-automatic heating and flushing models to fully automatic smart toilet seats that offer washing and cleaning functions. Quality brands like Panasonic offer these for under a thousand yuan. Smart toilet seats are quite common in many Chinese households now and are a significant consideration for many guests when traveling. Replacing them with fully smart models would be a major upgrade and a key factor for many potential guests."

Housekeeping and hallway staff always greeted me politely, and any requests were met with incredibly fast responses. The attention to detail truly showed how much they care. The service was comprehensive and excellent, the environment was comfortable and elegant, and the staff were professional yet warm. I felt completely at home throughout my entire stay. This is definitely my top choice for accommodation, and I'll be back again! The only minor downside was that being so close to the sea, the room had a bit of a damp and moldy smell."

If you're traveling with family, you really need to be careful. A 5-diamond rating isn't the same as a 5-star hotel, and Trip.com's ratings aren't always reliable. "The room was clean and spacious, with comfortable bedding and excellent hygiene! No carpets, so no musty smell, which is great for people with allergies. The hotel is right by the sea; its back door opens directly onto the coastal road, next to 'The Story of the Sea' – the most beautiful dining spot by the beach. We heard that even a former UN Secretary-General once dined there. Even at night, young couples were taking wedding photos on the beach. Walking west, you reach the mouth of the Wanquan River. Overall, though it's an older four-star hotel and the exterior looks a bit dated, the air is fresh, and it's very clean. The lobby even offers complimentary tea and bananas, which is a nice touch. Breakfast was delicious. In the evening, we went to the nearby Tanmen Town Fisherman's Wharf and bought live abalone, wild sea shrimp, mouse grouper, and scallops. We brought them back to the hotel, and the restaurant chef helped prepare them for a reasonable fee, which felt much safer than eating seafood at small outside eateries! The restaurant waitstaff, especially the aunties, provided superb service. They even kindly warned us when we ordered too many extra vegetables and soup, fearing we wouldn't finish them. In short, the hotel offers great value for money, and we extended our stay for two more nights! (Attached photos show the seaside scenery from the hotel's back door)"

"Decided to extend my stay because I liked it so much. A big thank you to the front desk lady who helped my child print their homework. Also, thank you for promptly communicating with management and switching me to a room with a different orientation due to the construction noise, which ensured I could sleep peacefully. My only hope is that the restaurant breakfast staff could be a bit more flexible. I told them I didn't want noodles or vermicelli, just some cooked vegetables and 6 shrimp. They absolutely refused, saying it was against their rules – shrimp could only be added when making noodles or vermicelli, and only 2 shrimp per bowl. In the end, they forced me to take three bowls of noodles, with two shrimp in each, and all those noodles went to waste. In the age of AI, what machines can't replace is human flexibility and a touch of humanity. I hope there's room for improvement!"
