Had issue with both trip.com and the hotel right up till a few days before the stay. Trip.com informed that hotel is not available and said I had to change just a week before the stay. However, the recommended alternative was further and I was asked to pay extra given the higher cost (as the stay is just 1 week away).
I then initiated to check directly with the hotel to confirm the stay. The hotel then told me the stay is confirmed but trip.com insisted otherwise. All these took place for a few days and was only settled after many emails and calls while I was travelling in Europe.
After finally getting to the hotel, I thought all would be good.
I paid the hotel tax using cash and the change given by the hotel staff turned out to be unusable, defunct note.
Am utterly disappointed by trip.com and the hotel for causing much distress to my trip and disturbed by the hotel staff's dishonest act.
I followed up with an email to the hotel regarding the incident but there was no reply.
Be extra careful when booking this hotel through trip.com.
